Ruka actually is 21 years old now, her bday was in March. But yeah I’m glad you picked up on her stage presence and confidence, she started dancing since she was 6 years old. She was in JPOP girl group before auditioning for YG entertainment. So she already knows how to take control of the stage, facial expressions, connecting with the audience, and being in a group with different personalities. She was auditioned and and was discovered in YG Japan around spring 2018. She then flew to SKOREA in May 2018 and had her final audition with YG executive producer and became an official YG trainee. Her strength is actually DANCING and her stage presence. Her specialty is indeed anything HIP HOP, out of the 7 girls she has the most hip hop element and has a really good feel and groove when she performs. If we’re talking about OG YG ENTERTAINMENT STYLE, that is definitely RUKA. YG Entertainment started off as a hip hop label/record company. YG artists were known to have the natural swag, attitude, confidence, unique rap flow, and insane stage presence. I feel RUKA definitely embodies OG YG HIP HOP.. which makes her the MONSTER in BABYMONSTER. The other girls are equally amazing in their own ways and have their different strengths as well. Which makes BABYMONSTER well BABYMONSTER. They’re so versatile and each member is so unique and talented. Also, if you didn’t know Ruka rapped in English, Japanese, and Korean. 3 different languages and that means she wrote her own lyrics. She is credited as lyricist in this video and in her other solo performance video too. 👍👍
