The brothers Gibb are one of the most extraordinary singers in music history! They sang together since the early 60's as children until 2003 when Maurice died and 2014 when Robin died. I think. Barry is the oldest and last one. Andy, the youngest, died in the 80's because of drug addiction. Too bad. He looked like Barry (the ladies absolutely loved Barry) and could sing as good as his brothers. What a shame. The brothers wrote many songs for themselves and other top artists over 3 decades. I was 18 when this album "Spirits Having Flown" came out in 79. The Bee Gees practically owned the 70s. I'm so glad to see young people enjoy their music as much as I do. It's refreshing! My favorite group! They Wrote their own songs. Sang them beautifully. Their 3 part harmony is the best. And they wrote hits for other artists too! They are 3 brothers. The oldest is Barry in the middle. The two on the ends are twins Robin and Maurice(Morris). They were singing professionally since they were children and writing their own songs as children too. React to more of their songs please. You will enjoy their contribution to the world with their wonderful music and voices. They all can sing lead. Robin has a beautiful unique voice. Bee Gees = the BROTHERS’ GIBB. Barry Gibb is the oldest, and in the middle. The two on the side are Robin and Maurice Gibb, and they are the twins. The Bee Gees are in the Guinness Book of World Records as songwriters, as in most ever written. Literally have 50 years long catalog, and hall of fame musicians fill the list of performers that sang Bee Gees originals, written for them. Probably most talented musicians ever. We're hosting normal but mostly healthy in the high pitouched. And when they were entered into the music hall of fame, I think it's called. Another group you may enjoy if you like amazing vocal range is Steelheart’s “She’s Gone” and “I’ll Never Let You Go!. The lead vocalist Miljenko is just incredible! He was also Mark Wahlberg’s singing voice in the movie “Rockstar”. It's like they invented harmony. Live band, no auto tune, no computerized voice enhancement and one mic for all three of them. Back then (1979). singing was just pure, raw talent. By the date of this recording, the BeeGees had already been singing together professionally for 21 years when Barry was 12 years old and the twins were just 9. All of the Gibb brothers including little brother, Andy, could sing in that amazing falsetto voice. But Barry was the master. He was able to exorcise more control over it. The Gibbs were, in my opinion, the most multi-talented families in music history. They wrote their own songs as well as writing songs for many other musical greats.This song was included on a compilation album to benefit UNICEF. There were many artists who recorded songs on the album, but the BeeGees gave all the royalties from this song in any form. In, at that time, an unprecedented move, they also gave UNICEF the publishing rights to Too Much Heaven. To date, Too Much Heaven has raised over 11 million dollars for UNICEF. In 1967, they wrote a song called To Love Somebody which appeared on their third album titled BeeGees 1st, but their first internationally, as the first two albums were only released in Australia. BeeGees 1st was released in July '67. Otis Redding was set to record To Love Somebody on his next album. Sadly, Otis was killed in a plane crash, Dec 10,1967. I thought for the longest time that they didn't record it themselves until after the death of Otis Redding. Their brother Andy Gibb had a very successful solo career as well until his death on March 10,1988. Just 5 days after turning 30. Andy had developed myocarditis, inflammation of the heart, which was brought on by a viral infection While most people recover from myocarditis, Andy's body was unable to fight the infection due to his history of drug use. Soo sad! The 1st time I heard this song, I was 15 years old. I was sitting on the floor in our living room. They sang with so much emotion that I had tears running down my face. It didn't hurt that before this I found out that Barry and I shared the same birthday, me in 1963 and him in 1946. While I was crying, my daddy came in and told me to knock it off or he'd change the channel. He was mean.
