The thing to remember is that Barry is the older brother and Robin and Maurice are fraternal twins. They are as difference as any other siblings genetically but shared the womb. Probably been harmonizing since the womb. This song is impressive. It was recorded LIVE!! No studio magic brothers doing their thing. Barry coming in and out and the twins are in complete sinc with one another.
@PitfallHarry7226 күн бұрын
Actually, this is a studio recording, though the video makes it looks like it was live. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they were actually singing during this performance, but the audio isn't from the performance you see. It was recorded in the traditional way, and is actually very complex. It's not something that could be replicated live without backing tracks, or at least not the way it sounds.

You are SOOOO right - "they" don't make love songs like this anymore. Probably because people like this don't exist anymore. We're all becoming so self-centered and jaded - it's not in anyone's heart or skill-set to produce such songs anymore. It seems musicians today want to emulate what's popular, rather than take a chance at success with their own unique sound. This expensive life - and becoming ever more so by the day - keeps musicians from breaking onto the scene with THEIR own sound. You're right - it's sad. So thankful we have recordings!! :)

I grew up listening to the Bee Gees, and after both Robin and Maurice had passed away, Barry didn't perform for a while. I saw his first solo performance, and on his first song, he sang How Can You Mend A Broken Heart, and at the part where his brothers would normally sing and join in, he started crying, and tears started flowing from his eyes. He missed a few words, and then started singing again. It was very touching, when the audience started singing the song with him, and singing the parts that his brothers would sing. He must have gotten a 10 minute standing ovation when the song was over.

It's actually difficult to quantify just how good this song really is. I mean, lyrically, it's simply exceptional. If Shakespeare wrote a pop song it would literally sound like this. But what's more incredible is they performed this as a long form video as one take. Like seriously, how is that even possible ❤😂

The reason why love songs are not made like this any more is b/c their are not any male(s) vocals that even can compare the Bee Gee's today. The Bee Gees had their own unique vocals and sound. I was lucky enough to grow up in the 70's. The Bees Gees also did a sound track for a very big movie back in the 1977. I remember going to a theater to watch "Saturday Night Fever" Look it up, and watch, great tracks, Movie was pretty good too. If your going to watch, watch the uncut version.

One of the most common comments by reactors on KZbin is "They don't make music like this anymore." It's said so often because it's true. And younger generations don't realize this until they start delving into the songs from these older decades.
