Now you have watched the song that launched it all for Billie (at age 13 and she sounds younger) - FINNEAS wrote this, as well the first one you listened to "When the Partys Over". FINNEAS also wrote "My Strange Addiction", "6 ft. Under", "Watch"; all the others [except those featuring other artists or for shows] are written by Billie and FINNEAS. Billie "LIVE" [like the "live" VEVO videos] are all awesome. I saw her live in St. Paul, MN on March 15, 2022 - so awesome and phenomenal, I was moved to tears - first concert for a 68 yr old male in over 40 years. P.S. I think the blue ink is to emphasize the tears and perhaps to add color and texture to a very simple video [I think (not sure) people holding up and moving behind a sheet - when they didn't have money to spend on a high tech video.]

I’m just checking BE out here. Very controlled singing. Also “mellow beats” approach. I wonder if she ever writes a bridge. Your 1 & 2 BE tunes feel like charming vignettes more than songs. So far she’s good and smart.

She is incredible💚 Billie and Finneas are nominated for an Academy Award for the James Bond song No Time to Die, watch it live from the Brit Awards. You have no idea how Artsy she is, writes, produces and directs her videos. You will be amazed by her videos💚
@jenniferhof94482 жыл бұрын
Yes, she is very involved in her videos. She is directing all her videos at this point. I mentioned this on your reaction of When the party's over - you should really check out her latest video - Male Fantasy - she wrote, directed, and produced the video, and the song is an honest depiction or how someone feels after a relationship ends. Really haunting and beautiful song. One other thing about Billie and Finneas is that they recorded her EP (Don't smile at me) and her debut album (Where do we go when we all fall asleep) in Finneas' bedroom. Now they've moved into Finneas' studio in the basement of his house. And yes, she is so phenomenal live.

I think the word you are looking for to describe her voice is "ethereal". And in my opinion the coolest thing about her is that it's not just the song or the album that is her art. She considers the song, album, the music video, the performance live for her shows all to be one thing. She considers every one of the parts while she writes with FInneas.

This was actually a joke between her brother and Billie, he'd told her, I'm going to make you the biggest Pop Star ever... and they laughed...they were in a dance class and their teacher gave them a task to make a song that they could make a dance to... and Ocean Eyes was born 😉 She cries when she hears this because she said that it's so long ago and it's the song that gave her the life she has😘 ps. They had one rule growing up and that was that if they were doing anything musical, they didn't have to go to bed! Her parents are also amazing and it's TRULY a family affair!!

I've loved watching this and your when the party's over reaction! She is definitely a beautiful artist especially live, great to see you recognize this so early into discovering her music. Billie is so versatile and puts so much feeling and emotion into her performances. I would love to see you listen to her full discography in order because she's definitely an album artist. You'd start with don't smile at me (EP), then when we all fall asleep, where do we go? (debut album, 7 grammys!!!), and lastly happier than ever (sophomore album that highlights billie's personal and musical growth, so amazing!) she also has an amazing documentary "the world's a little blurry" about her rise to fame and the road to and right after her debut album. it's not only a great insight into billie but also just a great documentary film in and of itself :)

Nice chill reaction to a nice chill song. 'Happier Than Ever' is one of her newest and best (the official video is the way to experience that one), but 'Lovely' with Khalid is older and hauntingly beautiful, 'NDA' is funky, 'Bury A Friend' is dark, and 'I'm Not Your Friend' is sassy. Lots of flavors in her repertoire...see which ones you like.
