THIS is a band that I was DEFINITELY not allowed to listen to as a younger guy. I've never heard this song or any songs from Black Sabbath that I can name. First time reaction, enjoy!

A maimed god on guitar, a tripped out bard on bass and lyrics, the wonderful aggressive jazz drummer and a war orphan wailing on vocals. Such an evocative band with a tremendous body of work.

Can't go wrong with the first six albums. They have great stuff after that, but that 6-album run is something else.

Loved this song for years and years.Pretty fun to see you hear it for the first time.Lots of bands and people are the opposite of what they are perceived to be.

Probably the most misunderstood band in history. Geezer Butler, the bassist, wrote the lyrics. He wrote a lot of songs about everyday people's struggles. After forever, Killing yourself to live, so many more. I was 12 the first time I heard them and 50 years later they still resonate with me. Incredible, ground breaking band as well.

Black Sabbath are considered the grandfather's of metal. Tony Iommi create many of the guitar riffs that are the bases of many riffs today. Other Black Sabbath songs to check out: Black Sabbath, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Iron Man, Sweet Leaf, Paranoid, N.I.B., The Wizard, Snowblind, Symptom of the Universe, Changes and Fairies Wear Boots.

Great list, I would probably add Snow Blind & Children of the Grave. Then from the Dio era: Heaven and Hell, Die Young, Neon Nights, The Sign of the Southern Cross

Here are some more great Black Sabbath songs to check out: INTO THE VOID. BEHIND THE WALL OF SLEEP. WHEELS OF CONFUSION. SNOWBLIND. WARNING. A NATIONAL ACROBAT. Honestly, anything from their first several albums is worth a listen.

You should listen to after forever off of masters of reality. Strong Christianity lyrics. Not all of there music is what people stereotype them as. Also ozzys father made them there crosses to protect them from evil. They also turned down events to play for seance style settings.

To put into context - this song was on their 2nd album "Paranoid" released in 1970 (their debut "Black Sabbath" was released earlier that same year) - the band members were 21-22 years old at the time. "Paranoid" is certified 4× Platinum and is their biggest selling album. There was no promotional video released with this song (that I'm aware of) - I'm not sure who made this video but it's quite good. Promotional videos prior to the MTV era (beginning 1981) were fairly rare, there are exceptions of course.

Black Sabbath have a huge catalog of a great music. For starters, I would try "Hand of Doom" "Into the Void" "Lord of this World" or "A National Acrobat". This just scratches the surface.

An anti-war song that has endured for over half a century and is still relevant today.. You should listen to Heaven and Hell as well that was when Dio joined and Ozzy left. Also very powerful.

Listen to AFTER FOREVER and HEAVEN AND HELL with Ronnie james Dio as lead vocalist. Read with lyrics. You ever don't understand the lyrics of any song always ask Google. It will give you different point of views to ponder your thought. Oh by the way the lead guitarist Tony iommi lost 2 finger tips before joining Sabbath..that's right he does not have all his fingers. This puts him easily in the top 3 of all great heavy metal guitarist of all time. Another recent anti war song is WORLD WIDE SUICIDE - Pearl Jam...peace🥰🥰🍺🍄🚬🌲🍻🍸😇🛸👽

FYI - the video is a 'fan made' rendition ..from somewhere in E. Europe... Cannot decipher the video, just for fun, there is an amazing performance of this song, LIVE Paris - I think about 1970 I have been w/ ya since your 1st Iron Maiden . . . And have been patiently waiting for Sabbath - the God Father's of Heavy Metal ! Their first 6 albums laid the groundwork for an entire genre .... I feel their prime, considering the times, and the drugs, and their development, is Sabatoge, Master Of Reality, Vol. IV --- my suggestions, as a massive fan - Megalomania Hole In The Sky Symptom Of The Universe The Writ Am I Going Insane Children Of The Grave Orchid Sweet Leaf Wheels Of Confusion Supernaut Snowblind But, basically throw a dart at any of their first 6 projects, and you have metal mastery. Ozzy Osbourne - vocals , harmonic Geezer Butler - bass , organ Toni Iomi - guitar Bill Ward - drums Have a great day, looking forward to more content. ( sorry, I am not involved in any Patreon accounts, nothing personal )

So silver stuff... I like what you're doing. Let's branch you out to Judas Priest. Another band on the nwobhm. New wave of British heavy metal. Including iron maiden, Saxon, Judas priest, late Black Sabbath and the Ilk. Or Saxon old stuff like crusader for that matter. Love to watch your journey. Deep purple is in there I thing too. so much to learn.

Dang it man. I can’t even watch it because it’s this fan video. Everyone reacts to this horrible video and it’s horribly horrible. (KZbin just told me that I ran out of my limit of using the word “horrible“). That video is the only time in my life that I would support totalitarian censorship. It needs to be deleted from proper life, and the creator needs to be put behind bars. (that was a joke.)
