A real band,with real musicians whose playing live is 1000 times better than all of the sad excuses for bands today. NO studio tricks, NO auto-tune,NO overdubs! 4 guys in their early 20s on stage and absolutely knocking it out of the park!!! This is the norm in the 60s and 70s. The 2 greatest decades for music without question! The musicianship,lyrical content, harmonies, quantity ,quality,variety,stage presence,vocal ability. You got it all. More enduring legendary bands,singers and musicians than any other decades bar none. Many performers still selling out football stadiums in their fucking 70s! Performing for over 50 years! Rock and Roll,blues,soul, progressive, motown, R and B,Heavy Metal, Harmony groups,singer song writer types,Funk and Disco!Tell me a better 20 year run than the 60s and 70s and I'll refer you to a psychiatrist! This performance is like a tsunami,earthquake,tornado and hurricane all rolled into one. Bill Ward annihilated those drums, Geezer Butler set that bass on fire! Tony Iommi on guitar and Ozzy! Plenty of Bands that still play live and loud all over the world, without all the fancy effects and auto tune, just talented musicians trying to make a living or just following their passion. They play in pubs and clubs and the lucky ones might get some support gigs for bigger bands, but guess what, no one goes out to support these bands, instead they just moan that they don't exist anymore and nothing will ever be as good again. The reason all the Rappers and the pop stars that use autotune and cant play an instrument are so popular is because people are voting for them with their wallets. If people want to hear some great rock music, find a local band or a band that is touring in your area and go out and support them, subscribe to their youtube channel, buy a CD, listen to them on spotify. To you Sabbath were the best thing ever, to your parents and grandparents generation they were just a bunch of long haired hooligans making a racket. There are great bands out there, they just arent as easy to find. Also I don't see anything wrong with overdubs, add ons or backing tracks as long as they serve the song and are used tastefully. But you are entitled to your opinion and that's fair enough, and I'm not attacking you personally, its just I've seen this comment so many times on so many videos. Rock still live, it just lives in the shadows, here it belongs in my opinion, as soon as the record company executives get hold of it they always fuc% it up anyway.

@@concept226 I also agree with you on record companies fucking up anything worthwhile because I know without a doubt if a group like steely dan or pink Floyd came out with their music today, the record execs would never release it. Back then some labels had artsy types heading the company and they backed bands with $ and let them play their style of music. That's why so many bands had that unique sound. It's all generic today like in sports,there is parity. Which is a nice word for mediocrity. Without innovative producers,engineers and record execs with a real ear for music you get what you have today. I think the best performer/writer/musician is Chris Stapleton. He's the real deal.

It seems so foreign, to me, that there are people that don't know that Ozzy was originally in a rock band BUT, that THAT rock band was one of the three, LEGENDARY, UNHOLY TRINITY of ROCK BANDS! That being Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple . . . . . the OG's of heavy rock! It's so much fun seeing the younger generations discovering the greatness that I grew up with. I remember when there were four pillars considered as the creators of the blueprint for hard rock. The three you mention, but also Uriah Heep. The solid wall of sound from Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, the mix of heavy and light from Led Zeppelin and Uriah Heep. I actually find it rather sad that Heep's been forgotten. The David Byron era was phenomenal.

I wouldn't put zeppelin or deep purple in the same category as sabbath. They were rock bands, with zeppelin being a bit folky, sabbath was quite different.

I saw them in the 80's with Gillan and then in the 90's with Tony Martin.(actually really liked Headless Cross). The last saw them in 98 when they did the ozzfest at MK Bowl. Got so drunk I got my nipple pierced. Still have it 25 years later.

The one thing I wish that the camera people would've shown more of the incredible Geezer Butlers bass wizardry. As a drummer myself I can tell you Bill is an incredible technician, fiery and relentless. To up the game he's playing with the heavier " butt end " of his sticks. They're all effin LEGENDS !!

I think it might have California Jam, but I saw Sabbath on TV back in the 70's. Geezer's hands were so fast on that bass playing Paranoid, the film couldn't keep up. His hands were a flesh blur in front of the instrument.

I have always argued that Bill Ward is one of the greatest drummers, but always seemingly overlooked. Yes Ozzy was Sabbaths singer from their forming in 68 until 79 when Dio became the singer. Arguably the single most influential fathers of metal

Crazy story about that guitarist, Tony Iommi: When he was young he was planning on quitting his job at a metal factory and pursue being a musician. He wasn't going to go in to work on the day he was going to quit, but his mother told him he needed to.. He went and had an accident on the job, shearing metal on a machine. The machine ended up chopping off the tips of his finger on his fretting hand. You'd think that would ruin anyone's dream of ever playing guitar again. But he figured out a way to melt the tops on dish washing soap, and molded it to fit on the ends of his fingers, and he started playing again that way. If you look closely at his fingertips in live performances, you should be able to see him wearing stuff on the end of his fingers.

Never seen a good drummer who was fat. So much sweat in their boots at the end of a show they could put a fire out! And Tony Iommi on Guitar .. he had his fingers cut off and he still plays like that! Geezer and Ozzy.. and this is live in 1970 .. the sound is spot on .. what a treasure that the sound people and the film people (yeah it was film) did such an amazing job. The whole live in Paris film is amazing. Thanks so much for featuring this song. War Pigs.. shit they talk about in 1970 is the same today

Now that you have heard the original you should go check out Ren's old band, The Big Push and their cover/mashup of War Pigs that they posted from a live Busking Session (street performace,) the one where Ren is in red suspenders. They killed it and at the same time they put their own spin on it!! I was nervous to watch it because War Pigs is such an iconic song & I want sure they could do it justice but I hadn't seen The Big Push at that point and now I know what they are capable of making some incredible music Love the energy you guys bring to your reactions! Didn’t know he was in a band? Oh man. He’s one of the 4 in Black Sabbath who created heavy metal. Dudes were responsible for an entire genre of music being created. Mind you this performance was in 1970 some 10 years before metal REALLY took shape. Ozzy is the pinnacle of heavy music and has been for 54 years.

You can imagine how me and my friends reacted the first time we heard Sabbath, Deep purple and Zeppelin in the early 70s, we had not heard anything like it before. Well we had listen to Jimi Hendrix Bold as love album before this and their is some heavy stuff there and Cream and some other heavy bands that paved the way for the three Pioneers in heavy metal. The term heavy metal came later maybe in the late 70. back then i t was just Hard Rock.

That was a very young Black Sabbath doing a well known song from their second album, Paranoid. That was Ozzy Osbourne on vocals, Tony Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass, and Bill Ward on drums. The original lineup, and one of the songs that made them famous. Apparently, Ozzy was singing in, I guess, French, at least part of the time. That was different. If you're not familiar with Ozzy's Black Sabbath work (really?), I'd suggest trying the very first song, Black Sabbath from the album Black Sabbath. Probably the lowest range you'll ever hear Ozzy sing in. Such a deep, sinister sounding voice.
