There you go. Growing up in the South we had Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker, Blackfoot, Allman Brothers, The Outlaws, Molly Hatchet...etc. They were ours, they were us. Of course we listened to Zeppelin, AC/DC, Pink Floyd. ..etc. But it's not the same. Thanks for getting Southern rock. Next for you is dirt roads.

Their most underrated song! I think it’s their best...yeah, I know...I said it. Saw them live in Miami in 1980. The line up that day at the baseball stadium: 1. .38 Special 2. Blackfoot 3. Molly Hatchet 4. Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band My God, what a great day that was!!!! Everyone was INCREDIBLE but there was an energy from Blackfoot in particular that is still palpable today in my heart. I see that you feel that, too. Ricky Medlocke was the best frontman of all time. They were as TIGHT as a band can get live. I’m so lucky.

I have always loved Blackfoot. The singer was my uncle's neighbor when I was a kid. I agree with you about loving that sound of picking thru a flanger. That was my definition of the 80's Southern Rock sound. You should listen to 'Diary Of A Working Man'. The lyrics and his voice will choke you up. It is a VERY deep song.

A lot of the great rock bands from the 70's and very early 80's were nearly obsessive about bringing their music from the heart. The great southern rock bands, I.E., Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker Band, Blackfoot, Molly Hatchet, Wet Willie, Atlanta Rhythm Section, .38-Special, The Outlaws, etc...these bands brought it from the soul.

So glad you digged it man. This is how southern rock powers up the blues. I know you're probably gettin' tons of requests but when you have a moment take a ride on Train Train by this band if you haven't done so already. Keep puttin' it out there man. Later.

So glad to see you doing a reaction to Left Turn!! Saw them in 1981 at Hare Arena in Dayton, Ohio with a very young and then still relatively unknown group of youngsters from England called Def Leppard as their opening act. Always have thought this was not only one of the best cuts off the "Strikes" album, but one of their best from any album.
