Against the Wind, Night Moves, Turn the Page, Roll me Away, Hollywood Nights, Like a Rock, Mainstreet and probably one of the most famous Bob Seger songs you have got to know is Old Time Rock and Roll which Tom Cruise dances to in his undies in a little old movie called Risky Business! The songs I listed are some of my favorite Bob Seger songs but he has so many more his playlist is super long and he doesn’t have a bad song on that list at least in my opinion can’t wait to see you guys dive into The Bob Seger rabbit hole!!! Thank you for finally doing a Bob Seger song I’m loving it!!!

He has one of the best voices in all of Rock and Roll. There is not such thing a bad Bog Seger song. I know people have already suggested many of his songs but Turn the Page is an absolute classic my personal favorite is Hollywood Nights. Also if you like movies from the 80's you probably heard some of his songs in Risky Business and Beverly Hills Cop 2. As far as this song goes it is about a one night stand but more than that. Its about a man and a woman who dated but have not broken up, and they are both alone and lonely and he asks for one more night. Like how many ex's keep bumping into each other after they break up .

I never felt describing it as a one-night stand was appropriate. More like two lonely people connecting for some intimacy, if only for one night. Tomayto-tomahto, but I always felt this was about more than a one time physical connection.

The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section jump-started Bob's success in '71 and '72. He ran out of money while recording in Alabama. Rather than sending him back to Michigan, the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section fronted him enough money so he could get back into the recording studio. The Muscle Shoals guys did something with Seger that would never happen again. They offered to put Bob on a contract to really get him rolling. The Amazing thing was, it was a hand shake deal. That was the 70s for you. Most of the Rhythm Section has passed away now but you folks should give them their dues. If not for legends like Barry Becket, Jimmy Johnson, Pete Carr and Roger Hawkins, there wouldn't have been what you now praise.

Bob Seger’s piano-based ballad tells a story of two lonely people who aren’t meant to be but will deal for one night. Seger penned the song after watching a movie titled, The Sting, starring Robert Redford and Paul Newman. He saw a scene in the film where Redford puts the moves on a waitress, who says, “I don’t even know you.” Redford replies: “You know me. I’m the same as you. It’s two in the morning and I don’t know nobody.”

I’m not sure how many others suggested this song...but I’m happy you got around to it this quickly. There is of course a one-night stand...but it’s more than that. It is about lonely people taking a chance. It is a beautiful song really...and from the outset with that piano and opening lines...fabulous! Bob Seger really has a great variety of hits. “let’s make it last...let’s find a way” “Deep in my soul...I’ve been so lonely...all of my hopes, fading away..I’ve longed for love...like everyone else does...I know I’ll keep searching - even after today”

Many of the people and bands you love are so intertwined. Bob Seger was like a big brother to Glenn Frey singer/songwriter of the Eagles. Jackson Browne lived in the apartment below the Eagles. James Gang Funk number #49 is by Joe Walsh who became a member of the Eagles and is shreading in Hotel California. His solo work is also fantastic. Joe’s wife’s sister is married to Ringo Starr of the Beatles so they’ve all played together. Everyone on the planet has worked with Barry Gibb, even Michael Jackson, who Barry named his son after. Vince Gill, another voice of an angel has joined the Eagles since Glenn Frey‘s death. And it just goes on from here. This is so much fun watching you guys find this fantastic music of our youth. We grew up to American Bandstand on Saturday at noon. Watched the Midnight Special and Soul Train on Saturday night. Everything blended together, music included. Almost 60 and we never gave a thought to what color somebody was or where they were from. I miss it so much.

Recorded some of his hit songs in the where a lot big stars recorded in Muscle Shoals AL sorry I knew that my brain is still learning to retrieve from a massive stroke I got hit with. I am blessed I'm miracle they say. You guys put so much sunshine in my day. Thank you for that. He writes his songs about his life on the road. Old Time Rock and Roll. The INCREDIBLE Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section actually stole the show on this song. Bob knew what he was doing when he signed a 10 year deal with the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section in 1972 and hence the hits began to roll. What a combo they were for those years. The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame in 2007 I believe.

Bob Seeger wrote this song and I consider it one of his finest. Kenny Rogers and Sheena Easton covered it as a duet, it was very hot on both Country and Pop radio stations.

Somewhere in my attic is a note from Bob Seger, written to me back when he first got big.💙 "Turn the Page" is one you need to do. It's about life on the road & shows clips across the years.💙

NIGHT MOVES, TURN THE PAGE, HOLLYWOOD NIGHTS, and ROLL ME AWAY are his absolutely top-tier songs. I am not slighting his other songs because his music catalog is epic. He is in the SONGWRITER'S HALL OF FAME and THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME. He is a consummate storyteller. Every song is a story from life. Some good and some sad.

I always thought of this song about an ex love or acquaintance since he seems to know she's in the same boat?? In any case it's a beautiful song. Bob Seger (see-ger) was very successful-played on the radio consistently mostly in the 70s. So there are A LOT of really great songs for you to discover. Thank you so much for this reaction... Bob is definitely a favorite!!! HOLLYWOOD NIGHTS MAIN STREET COME TO POPPA AGAINST THE WIND LIKE A ROCK STILL THE SAME OLD TIME ROCK AND ROLL HER STRUT
