What I love about him...well one of the things I love about him... is that he holds back or lets it rip based on the message of the song. Here he just lets his Angelic voice carry the message. He paints art with his voice. Thank you again for diving back in time so others can feel what we felt.

Yes, he does what the song needs, not just to show off what he can do.

Nice reaction. I think it was in 1965 or 1966 when he sang this. Bobby has many solos. Check them all out. He has one "My prayer"

Bobby never disappoints great recording. one of my favorite songs ever! Elvis Presley did a fantastic cover also was done by the Orioles who did the original in early 50s. Both are worth checking out especially by Elvis

The original record was by Darrell Glenn in 1953. It was written by his father, Artie Glenn, after recovering from surgery and going to the nearest chapel to the hospital to pray. On the Billboard Popular it reached number 6 and on the Billboard Country and Western number 4.

This link is to a Bobby Hatfield and the Paramours 1962 song " I need a girl" written by Bill Medley. They were both in this group before they became the Righteous Brothers. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3ewen-llqiMmacsi=T1eDpkzHP9YGlVqe

Does the term "over-produced" come to mind? Bobby Hatfield was a magnificent singer, of course - but Elvis, with simpler orchestration, really conveys the feeling of the song much more convincingly. Bobby is too busy being a magnificent singer here.

No question. But when he sings this one, it's about the singer - when Elvis sings it, it's about the song.@@Blessing_Reacts
