When you talked about your frame of reference to similar songs in k-pop did you forget V's "Singularity"? You fell in love with that song right away and it's has very similar vibes to this one. "The truth untold" is a must watch after this. The live performances are also so iconic. The way BTS members convey their emotions through singing/rapping and make you feel exactly how they're feeling as well as their energy and stage presence are just unmatched 👏

Jimin indeed being a counter tenor, which alone sets him apart, but aside from that which is a rarity in itself, also has such a unique quality & timber to his voice, that you can once hearing his voice just a few times, can tell that it’s him, like you’ve been able to detect. Jimin is the only one that can hit those stratospheric high notes, and not using falsetto, but abilities to use his head voice, which gives him more leeway to go back to chest voice ever so smoothly. Jimin, being officially assigned to be Lead Vocalist as well as Main Dancer, so was assigned much of the background vocals that often go unnoticed! Glad you did pick up on them. Many are mentioning JK which was the one doing some of the adlibs but more obvious, not so much in the background. Also Some if Jimins background highnotes were also used to enhance and harmonize with others vocals to give that much more of a fuller sound. I’d love for you to react to 🔥❣️Jimin Best Live High Notes & Raspy Vocals Compilation, by Jem Jimin. Though it’s a few yrs older now, it will also help introduce you to many of BTS best older songs, aside from showing Jimin’s full range. You really DO need to watch the Live version. The lyric videos don't always accurately reflect background vocals and harmony singers (as to who is singing with the lead at that moment). They sing with such passion, and they are all hot/sweaty - I think they had just performed one or more of their songs with a lot of dancing, but I wasn't there so not sure. Anyway, the vocal line Live is amazing! This is one of my favorites (well, I have a Lot of favorites, but still...lol).

House of cards versions appeared in 2015/2016. Kpop groups were not doing music like this. BTS really did pave the way and show other groups like SK's what was possible. My favourite BTS tracks are mostly their B sides, apart from N.O., Fake Love & Black Swan which are stand out A sides. Dive into their B sides a bit more, their are loads of not so hidden gems!💜

House of Cards is a fan favorite, and the live performance is amazing. So I highly suggest that. The orchestra is live too. The Most Beautiful Moment In Life: Young Forever, I do believe was the album that was their first Daesang (album of the year award) at a Korean Award show. This was also an ERA that is very significant for BTS and ARMY, and there is a 10 year anniversary of this ERA, when BTS comes Back In 2025. They will be celebrating it with their comeback, and I'm anticipating a World Tour, and new songs, and or remixes. We will see, but whatever they do will be EPIC. Jungkook's scatting in the live version is awesome. BTS have heart and soul, and Jazz/R&B mastered.

This song always gave me the feeling of despair between two people who have a passionate relationship and try hard to stay together but they are not meant to be or they're not good for each other! The feeling that the end is near and you are so desperate to stay togther that you grab from "physical attraction" to create the illusion of hope! I don't know how to expalin it better but I think the people who had a similar relationship can understand what I mean! Yup. 🙋🏻‍♀️ Know exactly what you mean. It definitely reads like that. However, in a similar vein to Outro: Tear, based on when in their timeline it was released (after I Need You gave the guys their first music show win) I believe the people “trying hard to stay together but they are not meant to be” were the members themselves, because before that album’s success they had been certain disbandment was close. I interpret the verse “I say it like a habit We won’t work in the end Even so, I keep hoping As long as I’m with you in the end as well, I’m okay” to mean they were still hoping they could push it back or avoid it (and they did) but had decided to at least keep their friendships if they couldn’t. It’s a gorgeous song regardless.

The majority of adlibs are JK’s, the King of adlibs. You see it more in their live performance. Jimin also does some adlibs in this and his high notes are heavenly. But keep in mind the entire vocal line can do high notes. Sometimes when people thinks it’s Jimin it can actually be Jin or V.

Yes, all members of the vocal line can do high notes and adlibs but they all have a different tone. I personally feel more things when it’s Jimin and I think Teddy too, this doesn’t mean that the high notes of the other members are not heavenly, it’s just a tone preference.

It’s JK. 8:52 “I swear it’s him (JM) doing the high pitched vocals... last chorus there’s a lot of high pitched vocals in the background...”. 7:40 That’s mainly JK. He spends the most time in the studio because of ad libbing and harmonising. JM has a fan song call “Letter” where there are beautiful high vocals in the background. JM’s production diary showed that was JK. Whilst they all do ad libs and harmonising here and there, it’s usually JK that creates, explains and demonstrates when and how to do it.

Hi, I just went through all your BTS reactions here&Patreon. I'm commenting here, although you said something during the Fire reaction, but that was a while ago, so maybe you won't read back. Jimin's outstanding voice: Many people don't know that his range is actually 'counter tenor', which is higher pitched than a tenor (Jungkook and Jin). Of course all of them can sing falsettos, even V, who is naturally a baritone. Jimin's voice is just naturally high and it is quite rare in the musical world right now to hear this kind of voice. He is very unique. He was not taught to sing when he joined BTS (not sure why), so he was watching JungKook and V and then practiced alone. Even though he was not taught, the highest notes were all 'assigned' to him even in their early songs. But BTS was still more on the hip hop genre in the beginning and he had to sing differently - as you said yourself. Later he found himself, his voice and style. He probably got lessons as well. There is a video on him and RM talking about his album Muse, where he mentions that he went back to take singing classes for about a month and a half and he has learnt a lot, especially how to save his voice. His technique was not always the best and the teacher told him that he would eventually ruin his voice if he kept on singing like that. But now, since he is doing different techniques, he has to figure out how to sing their old songs that it sounds the same (or similar), but not ruining himself. You would never know how difficult a life of a singer is, would you... I was stunned. Thank you for all the great and enjoyable videos. I'm actually only interested in the BTS stuff, but I still subscribed here and on Patreon as well. Keep going!

As an avid "House of Cards" enjoyer since the release of this song, I find the song really dark and depressing. I can read korean and it gave a totally different vibe to the song. Its like those really depressing days where you feel like everything is falling apart in your life and in your mental state (Living in a house of cards) where even if you know this state youre in could lead you to more negative things (that could even risk your life), you stupidly stay in it caught in a viscious downward spiral of losing yourself to insanity. A part of yourself knows that there is hope at the end of all this, that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, but you refuse to get help, refuse to be pitied on, and keep living in this self-sabotage dark depressing cycle of living in an uneasy, unfounded, and chaotic mental space called the "House of Cards"

Honeslty, I think V's voice, its range. depth, emotiveness, the depth to it, especially here in this song, in that higher, extremely smooth, but even at times lighter tone he uses through most of the song. I just think his voice goes especially well with this type of sound. And it sounds so complex but fits the vibe extremely well. Even his lower baritone would probably sound really good on this track as well. Just a side thought. And want to say Jin's last verse sounds really, realy nice. That part stood out for me. Way to go BTS Vocal line!! 💜👏💜
