Someone mentioned awhile back that the reason the Ren community is so into reaction videos is that it's the closest thing we can get to the feeling of watching each video for the first time. It's like a drug in a way, but one with really no negative and only positive effects! It's brought the Renegades together into a network of positivity!

Sorry to break your happy bubble but 'Renegades' are often quite exclusitory. In every way you can imagine. Ren is a fucking genius, his fans... not so much, and I include myself in that. Ren is doing his thing, and there is a certain level of manipulation is involved. He is not Jesus, nor is he fully aware of the strings he is pulling. He is also fucking amazing... Oldest profession in the world, or am i confused? 🤣

Welcome to the rabbit hole Alice. Literally the Ren rabbit hole will reshape your perspective on music. And as a musician and producer who studies music branding and neuro-marketing... Ren is one if not the only true master of the art and science of human connection through music. But he has so many amazing songs. I mean all the way down to the bottom he has gold. I would say out of the 200+ videos he has posted only about 10 to 15 missed me. And somewhere between 20 and 50 blew my mind completely and reframed my outlook on music. This is an incredible journey with and incredible and diverse community surrounding it. Renegades love to see how others experience Rens music and message. So will future generations. This dude will be studied once people truly figure out what he's doing.

Oh boy! You just scratch the surface of what is Ren. He has a song for every mood you're in. For me that is: If I'm feeling masochistic and the tissue's are on sale: Ren X Chinchilla - How To Be Me (Live) If I want a fun upbeat song: Ren - Losing it (FISHER Rap Version) If I want to vibe: Ren - Power (Official Music Video) If I don't want to feel alone with my sickness: Ren - Seven Sins (Official Lyric Video) If I'm nostalgic (yes, I'm that old): Ren - Back on 74 / Message In A Bottle retake And the list goes on and on and on and on and... if you catch my drift, 😁😉
@Januaribarn6 ай бұрын
True and some of them can initially seem to fit one mood only but after a few listens they can surprise you and shape shift depending on your own mood. To me for example Hi Ren used to be feel a little heavy to listen to as my emotional reaction could be quite aggressive from 20 years of suppressed emotions, but with every listen it’s helped me release to the point where it will still get me there and release more shit when I’m in a low mood but surprisingly it’s also become the complete opposite. When I’m happy it’s *that* song, the one that hypes you up, makes you dance in public (some serious head bops bordering headbanging, rap hands and bouncing from side to side bad-side-ren-style in my case) it makes me feel full of confidence and cool af even tho I probably look everything but cool and I couldn’t care less. It fills me with happiness and everything positive in the same way losing it does. I’ve never experienced music that can invoke intense emotions that are totally opposite each other before ren. Occurred to me while typing this out that Hi Ren really is a perfect representation of the pendulum or yin yang, perfectly balanced between the dark and the light.

The best musical “siblings”. Ren has called her his sister from another mister and a female version of himself due to their similar approach to music. For me I think it shows in the fact that they both have that something special that draws you in and demands attention. To see it fully for Chinchilla, check out her live version of Fingers. This song always reminds that one of the (many) things that makes Ren so great is his ability to know exactly when to be complex, keep it simple, or even use silence to get his message across. He isn’t flexing his guitar skills in this, just playing exactly what is needed with that beautiful guitar tone. And my favourite line in this is so simple, totally devoid of all the clever metaphors that he is so good at using, but it hits soooo hard: “I’m scared of being okay cause all things change”. I think anyone who has been through any struggles can relate to that feeling of not trusting that anything good will last. You can’t just enjoy it because you’re busy worrying about how long it will last and the feeling that will come when it’s gone. And then good days just make the darkness feel so much worse because you remember the light that’s gone… Ren is so special. He keeps being so relatable that it reminds us that we’re not alone. And we will always make room for more RENegades down the Ren rabbit hole cause we all need his light in the darkness 🐰🕳️ If you want more emotional singing from Ren, please check out one of my personal favourites: Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before he was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It is heart wrenching and beautiful.

If it's a tissue required song it may be "for Joe" , SUicide, how to be me (another song with Chinchilla ) or Mackay (which is an instrumental). Ren is a genre bending bard so just keep exploring. He collaborates with a variety of artists as well His band The Big Push shows another different style of Ren , back on 74 retake is excellent (Re-take for Ren is using the original source music and putting his own spin on it) , for his Rap skills try The Hunger and Losing it Retake.

I don't know what song that other person was referring to, but I would highly recommend How to be me, the live version. It's another collaboration with Chinchilla. Ren doesn't have any songs about parenting, per se, but I think Dominoes touches on issues that parents should be aware of.

Love love love this song! And to think, you've only just scratched the surface. 😊 How about some live, busking-in-the-streets Ren? He was in a band called The Big Push, and they've got some great street performance videos. A good starting point is their cover mashup of I Shot The Sheriff/Road To Zion/Hip-hop. Or if you're in the mood for rap, Illest Of Our Time is a good intro to that side of Ren. And his Love Music series (parts 1-4) covers a lot of genres and it's just plain fun. 😊

Thanks for the great reaction. ❤ There is another great colab: 'Ren ft. Bibi - Crutch'. A song for which there are far too few reactions. It's so heartbreaking, beautiful and deep. Absolutely underrated in my opinion. And it has a great no-budget video as well. "Crutch" dates back to a time when Ren thought he wouldn't live much longer. Bibi was his girlfriend at that time and started a GoFundMe to raise donations for his treatment/diagnosis. If I understood correctly, it was the basis for his Lyme disease diagnosis.

As for recommendations I'm a big fan of Heretic, losing it, insomnia, Diazepam. But there are a ton more love music3 is a bomb, money game series bombs, crucify your culture, most of the sick Boi album. Just a word to the wise, when you see multiple versions of a Ren joint, ask the community which you should react to. Some performances are transporter beam next level. Those are what your looking for. Oh except for Murderer. Either one is worthy, so you can react to both. They are really like two different songs, but equally as good.

I think you need to take a deep dive into the rabbit hole and check out the songs he wrote while his health was at it's worst. Songs like "Diazepam", "Ready For You", "Penitence" (with Molly McKinna), "Everybody Drops", "Crutch" (with his ex, Bibi), "Heretic" "Dear God", "Hold On", "Humble" (with Eden Nash). It's a sad truth that it's when he was feeling at death's door that he did arguably his best stuff. Masterpieces every one of them.

I know you don't want to watch any interviews (though watching &/or reacting to his 1 million subscriber video is recommended), so I'm going to suggest his 59-second short about his daily routine since it explains some stuff: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWfNfIiDidGZjZYsi=sxKxsAGNQZtf1nJE A completely different non-music video that gives you a peek into his brain is "Eden," which was played at the end of a crazy-cool riddle game/hunt thing that promoted MGpart3 before it launched. IDK if there's a video about that, but it was crazy having people all over the world working together trying to solve these riddles. And everyone was sharing clues via Google docs and other social media. It was collaborative and unique and really f'ckn hard. I was so glad when Ren posted Eden on its own, so you don’t *have* to know about the game. Not a song, not personal per se, but philosophy.

Ren keeps surprising us all each song is different, you will not be disappointed ,,, but I have one recommendation to mix his songs up He does have light and fun songs and the videos with his band The Big Push and His first band was Trick The Fox (baby Ren) those are light and fun and some of his solo stuff is light to … two interview videos I like is Justin Hawkins Rides Again"The Ren Interview" (Ren 1st interview, and he was excited someone wanted to interview him) Zach Sang "New Album Sick Boi, Chronic Illness, Hi Ren, Lyme Disease" he really opens up I like to how he explains his songs ...
