Thanks for the reaction, the tears and the prayers to those of us who have been there. Also, for moving the reaction to today, which would have been my son's birthday. His son was 19 and died in a boating accident. Truest line in the song is "I heal a little more each day inside, but I won't completely heal 'til I go home."

After this performance at the Opry , he went backstage and told Ricky Skaggs that it was the last time anyone would hear that song , thats when Ricky grab Craig's shoulders ( in a not a aggressive way) told him that he needs to record it and everyone needs to hear it so that song can help them like helping Craig's family, Craig's friend Blake Shelton made an post saying that he doesn't want any radio stations to his songs ( Blake's) instead play Craig's song and he encouraged everyone to make it a number one hit , which it did .

this was Craig's first time performing it live. It was not even recorded at the time so no one had ever heard it except close friends. Friends urged him to sing it live
