If you're wondering why there are so many OSTs, it's because the game has unique music for every area and most encounters in the game. When the music cuts out and there is nothing to listen to, the silence is deafening, and the game makes great use of it.

Undertale’s OST is so good and the story in the game is also incredible, super excited to see you experience the game! I definitely recommend being a bit careful with reading chat when you play it live though as, while it’s a very beloved game, it also tends to bring in an audience of people who are quick to spoil. The composer is one guy (Toby Fox), who has actually since been able to collaborate with some Japanese game development teams. He created a few official Pokémon tracks and he was the first (and I believe only) non-Japanese composer to create a music track for Super Smash Bros Ultimate

All the songs were Toby Fox, who is also the creator of the game. The game was nearly a one man job with the other credits being a few artists and some translators for other languages. The man went from making fan content for other franchises to being an instant celebrity when Undertale dropped. He's since done music for the latest Pokemon games, for Hololive (did one of Marine's songs), and many other high profile things.

8:02 Toby Fox uses lots of instruments (soundfonts/SF2 files) from other retro games to get that exact retro vibe while using those in a DAW (musicprogram) like FLStudio or Ableton~ But yeah, the whole soundtrack has been made by Toby Fox himself :D :D :D

Undertale is only about 5-6 hours but has 3 endings so it closer to 8-10 hours, but every single song is reaction video worth. Also toby foxes real talent is to re-use melodies, motifs, and character themes to draw out emotion, when you know what is happening in the story its hard to not have the ost and story completely entangled in your mind.

Undertale music will always be a banger even if you have never played undertale! The story for the game isn't long, there are just a lot of areas that have their own themes and most bosses have 2 themes because they have 2 phases

Toby Fox's games are all really good, but, and I mean this sincerely and without hyperbole, the real reason they took off the way they did was the soundtrack. You release Undertaie under a different composer and it simply does not take off the same way. Which isn't to disparage it as a game either, its gameplay, characters, and story are all brilliant, literal Nintendo level work. One of my favorite games of all time, and like with anime, I have gone down a DEEP rabbit hole on that, games and anime are my 2 great loves in this life and are the foundation of some of my earliest, most important memories. You can theoretically beat Undertale 100% in an afternoon. You WON'T, certain boss fights are among the hardest (fair) boss fights ever made, but they're all iconic and even with the difficulty of some, completely worth it.

If you want to listen to more indie game music, I’d recommend the ost from Cave Story. It’s another game made by one man in the early 2000’s. Not only did he make the game and all the music, but also created the game engine and music making software used for it. The game itself is freeware, but updated and upgraded versions are available for sale on nearly everything.

So I'm sure if you listen to a lot of songs you'll be like "oh this song actually reminds me of the other song a lot". How long is the story? Well...That's not an easy thing to answer. Instead, let me say this: The average playtime of your first playthrough is about 15 hours. You can comfortably go through the story in six if you're familiar with the game and don't diverge too much. But there are other ways to go about seeing the game to it's conclusion, too. It all depends entirely on *YOU*.

For game length, it depends. There are multiple endings, some of those require you to get another ending first. If you have a bit of game knowledge ahead of time, probably like... 8 to 10 hours? Also varies if you're someone recording it for like, a KZbin/Twitch playthrough vs a casual playthrough. Game grumps played it on Stream and Danny/Arin took like 14 hours total to get through to the "true" ending

Yeah, Undertale OST is really good. If I had to make a top of my most favourite OSTs, it would definitely be in the TOP 3. You should react to "An Ending", "Another Medium", "Waterfall" and "Dummy" from Undertale. They are all really good too. Another game with an amazing soundtrack like in Undertale is Omori. I won't tell you what this game is about (you should avoid spoilers about this game AT ALL COSTS) and just say that it is really heart-wrenching. It is one of those games which should not be recommended to just about anyone, because it touches upon some pretty heavy life topics. I still remember how much time I spent thinking about my life and the things that happened in the game after I fnished it. If you play it, you should take seriously all the warnings in the Steam and when starting the game. Don't know why, but Undertale and Omori always remind me of each other. Maybe because they have similar styles, both in music and visuals. It's really hard to pick something concrete from the OSTs, but if I had to recommend something to react to, it'd be "It Means Everything", "World's End Valentine", "You Cannot Go Back", "Tee-hee Time", "OMORI" + "OMORI - Alter", "Duet" and "My Time" (especially the last 3).

Undertale is definitely worth the experience of playing, and more than once. Be careful about streaming it; there are a lot of people who feel strongly about a "Right" way to play the game, but there IS no "right way to play". There is, however, a very rewarding experience for people who manage to make it through the game without killing anyone-- something very possible in this game. As antithetical as it might seem to say so, you might want to limit chat while streaming the game- this is a fandom with VERY spoilery fans running amok, and they will often try to 'help' you (with spoilers). But as someone who interacts with their viewer base as you do, I also understand how that might not be feasible. :D Once you DO play Undertale, though, I'd love to lodge a request to check out (react to?) Undertale: The Musical by Man On The Internet. There's a full video that's 4 hours long (in which case, I'd recommend watching it in chunks), but there's also a playlist of (most of) the songs on the channel. Some were stricken by Materia Collective (they hold distribution rights, but it's MESSY) but are still in the full musical video. They were videos made with a lot of passion and love for the material, they encompass the story of the game, there's a full cast and original artwork for the musical. And the recommendation is at least partly self-interested; I play Toriel in that project, and I love hearing what people think of it. :D

Yo, I want you to react to two songs now, Asgore's theme, and Your Best Nightmare. Those are some of my favorites. Also I really like Amalgam, which is short you should fit that into a video with one of the others or all of the three. Edit: I also love Dummy!! That's a good one, maybe fit Dummy!! with one and Amalgam with one. AGH, second edit...forgot another top 5, Another Medium is the name. That is one of the best Undertale songs and is slept on.

speaking of dudes that make the music all by themselves, I would love for him to react to some LISA (joyful, painful) tracks. Got that same "rpg ost that can be goofy and a good time, or super emotional." -

One of the best songs, which you've reacted to the official version of, is Megalovania No matter what you do to this song, it still sounds good. It has become a meme to try and mutilate it in different ways to see what you get between ideas like; playing every 3rd note, playing it in reverse, playing it in different keys
