He lives and works in Moscow/Russia. He is singer, a world- famous composer and music titan in Russia (billionaire). His family lives in the US. Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. They are friends and have a father-son relationship. Maestro Igor Krutoy shared the story of the creation of the work 'Ave Maria' for Dimash. When writing a hit, Krutoy is guided by the Italian principle: every composer is worth exactly what his latest work is worth, which means that all previous successes and achievements do not count. “On one of the nights, about three months before New Wave, Dimash called and asked if I could write 'Ave Maria' for him and he explained that he wanted to sing something in that style... Lol, this version of Ave Maria is written by Igor Krutoy, the bald piano man that Dimash greeted at the end of the video. The version you were probably thinking of was written by Franz Schubert, and if you want to listen to it, here is Aida Garifullina singing it. There are many versions of Ave Maria. Dimash wanted his own version and asked Igor Krutoy to compose it for him. Also Dimash chose to don’t add lyrics. Ave Maria is a Christian prayer and in this case composed by a Jew and sang by a Muslim. Dimash does nothing without a reason and for sure wanted to tell us something or teach us a lesson. What that is, we don’t know but it’s for sure worth thinking about it and to find our own answer. To his voice: Heaven’s gate opens and a singing angel welcomes you. At least that’s what I felt listening to this song for the very first time.

Igor Krutoy (the gentleman at the piano) composed this version of the Ave Maria at Dimash's request. Usually, Ave Maria is a prayer to the Holy Virgin Mary. Dimash sings this song so emotionally that you can almost sense the fears and worries this young soldier must have felt as he went off to a war that wasn't his. I suggest always turning on the subtitles. Almost every song on his channel has many subtitles for you to choose from. Normally there are no vocal acrobatics in his native songs and I love them a lot. In every of this songs you can hear the great love and devotion to his country and his people. Notice at the beginning when Dimash is getting ready to sing you hear the heartbeat slowing down before stopping then Dimash sings its like the passing of life to be greeted by the angels. To me this is the closest you will get to heaven without going there. Even though this isn't the Catholic Prayer version it still gets the message across beautifully

One of my favorites version of this song. Haunting. Anna shcherbakova(SP) who won the gold medal in figure skating in Beijing used this for her gala exhibition. It was magical. Dimash voice control is insane. Unforgettable Day (song he wrote in his teens I think) and S.O.S. of a human being in Distress are my favs. His range is something like C2 to whistle notes like in Unforgettable Day.

If I'm not mistaken, this “Ave Maria” by composer and conductor Igor Krutoy is a work in vocalize format, completely unpublished, although it seems to be a variation of the initial theme (not the introduction but the singing part) of the melody by Schubert adapted to Dimash's voice in order to explore just as three initial notes and changing the fourth note to a higher note (From B4, A4 D#4 C#4 and B4 to G#4, G4, G4, D#5): Like a leap from "dark to light" which is the same contrast as Dimash's outfit (from dark to light)! It also seems to refer to the Russian V. Vavilov's version of "Ave Maria" (wrongly credited to Caccine) and work by JS Bach - Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV 846, with arrangements by Gounod, which Maetro Igor Krutoy has a predilection for!

Ave Maria means "All Hail Mary" and it is a prayer to Maria the mother of Jesus for the Catholic Church. It is noy ONE song: many composers used that prayer al lyrics for their compositions Most people thought this would be the traditional prayer but this is not the Franz Schubert´s Ave Maria, on Bach/Gounod´s, or Michael Lorenc´s or Ave Maria di Caccini.
