One important piece of advice when you pick up DOOM 2016 or DOOM Eternal: Don't play on hardest difficulty unless you're somewhere between a hardcore fps gamer to a fps god. These games are hard and you will end up dying at a frustrating rate if you pick a difficulty too hard for your skill level.
@ihatefishi3 жыл бұрын
The nightmare difficulty is an actual nightmare i strugle to keep atleast 1 1up
@lukeskywalker85163 жыл бұрын
@@ihatefishi i have beaten DOOM Eternal in nightmare, it took some time but i did it
@alexrosario4233 жыл бұрын
Nightmare is the true difficulty though. The thing about DOOM is you have to get used to never stopping, and efficient weapon swapping. If you can get decent at these two aspects, nightmare is the only difficulty you'll want to play in because essentially all it does is force you to play at a crazy high pace. The game rewards aggression. Simple as that.
@KB-du3rh3 жыл бұрын
@@alexrosario423 Yeah I second that.....not to sound like 'that guy' who's being cocky, but Doom 2016 was honestly quite easy even on UV, especially in the second half when you have some upgrades, however Nightmare keeps things punishing and forces you to play better and faster...Eternal, however, doesn't get easier in the late game, so Nightmare isn't *as* essential IMO, but still far more fun to beat it and be comfortable at that pace...if it gets too hard, fair enough, but give Nightmare a good go before turning the dial down, mastering it is worth the pain
@haxic3 жыл бұрын
@@alexrosario423 I think "get used to" is an understatement :D Learning the doom dance (for DOOM Eternal) takes a lot of practice and skill to execute. I think the majority of players never truly manage to pull it off, or pull it off well enough. I think even for most players that beat it on Nightmare difficulty did it through brute force and trial and error, not because they learned or executed the doom dance well. This most likely turned it into a frustrating experience rather than enjoyable. I have seen this on couple of DOOM Eternal streams.

The chain saw and lawnmower thing isn't in this or in anything from Doom (2016), Its in the next game Doom Eternal after bethesda shareholders "recommended" that the sound track be more electro then metal. After Mick and them had a back and forth he finally "agreed" to not use guitars, They didn't say anything about recording lawnmowers and weedwhackers to pitch and effect them LIKE guitars though. This lead to a huge fight between him and the shareholders to the point he left and the two DLC's are done by two different guys named Andrew Hulshult and David Levy who both in their own right are fucking heavy. Personally I'd say Andrew has some great work in the game he did before called DUSK, Check that soundtrack out.
