Thank you for Dreamcatcher’s reaction. You probably have no idea what kind of music genre Dreamcatcher's discography consists of. Because this song is quite different from Dreamcatcher’s songs.

your welcome and yeah im lost on the genre lol

@@compound3979 they do rock mostly, though they delve into genres that fall under that umbrella to prevent it from getting stale. here's some examples: endless night: heavy metal scream: EDM deja vu: not sure how to describe it but like...choir metal? is that a thing? bon voyage: kind of anime-like rock odd eye: cyberpunky-industrialish vibes BOCA (my personal fave): tropical rock with a twist

@@koschei4716 I would classify 'Deja Vu' as 'Epic Orchestra/ Choir fused with Metal'. Most of their music is two or three genres in one song, they fuse things all the time. And a LOT of their music gets called 'Anime Opening material' but they only actually have one anime opener... lol I think they got the idea from all those comments and went 'yeah, fine, let's give the people what they want'... :D

Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 At first glance you could think this is about them being proud and happy with themselves, about confidence. I don't think that is it though. I have no idea if my theory is correct, but the fact that the album is called VersuS VillainS makes me think it is not this simple. So I believe this song is meant as a criticism of narcissism, vanity, materialism and also (maybe) the fast fashion industry. "OOTD" stands for "Outfit of the Day" after all, maybe useless instagram influencers posting videos of their outfit of the day, which also promotes fast fashion. The fact that fashion is moving ever faster is the most destructive industry to the planet apart from the fossil fuel industry. The Aral lake has all but disappeared because of the cotton industry for example. It would fit to the Villain image, and you can see in the MV that they are acting. It is shown in the scene where Yoohyeon and Handong are fighting, but then the camera is off and Handong helps Yoohyeon up. The main reason why I don't think it is about confidence or their own success is the line "Driving on the highway, drunken everyday, do you feel like a monster?" and the album title. That just doesn't fit. And there was the ymenehcra account posting about touching a crown is dangerous and other cryptic messages before the comeback. It could also be a big and well-hidden F*U to the Kpop industry, like the Nightmare arc probably was. The narcissism and materialism is definitely criticized here, and Dreamcatcher have been criticized a lot themselves because of their rock/metal concept, while other groups have been celebrated for using a guitar riff once in a song. The music is highly interesting as well. There still is rock there, but dialed back. The song structure is not what you'd expect at all, for me it is punk rock meets K-Pop. Not their usual spiel, but a very good progression. It takes a couple of listens to really appreciate it.

The message is basically narcissism. Taking self confidence messages one step above into elitism. Its like a tongue in cheek critique of the industry that pushes self love mottos using heavily edited and controlled idols and how people are told to emulate them but the idols themselves are overly perfected and manufactured.

When I first listened to OOTD, I thought the song was so amazing and great, but it was different from what I had expected, so I felt unfamiliar. But, the second and third... As I listened to it, I see myself quickly falling into the magic of another Dreamcatcher as I always did. Surely, Dreamcatcher is Dreamcatcher !

Their sound starts with the "Nightmare" trilogy. "Chase Me" and "goodnight" are heavy into the rock and horror vibes. Many people still think of this when they think of Dreamcatcher. "Piri" is from the same trilogy and has a great sound and vocals. I love what they do with the flute in that one. (apparently Piri is a type of flute that was used in a similar way as drums or bugles were in war). "Roze Blue" is an excellent single that was made for a game. Vocals and raps are amazing. "Deja Vu" and "Silent Niht" are songs made for King's Raid. REALLY good. "Silent Night" is definitely something different. The Dystopia series has "Scream", a heavy rock/EDM soundtrack, "Boca", which has a more latin sound (forgot the name of the genre) mixed with rock, and "Odd EYE". Apocalypse series has "Maison," "Vision", and "Bonvoyage". Some of their b-sides got some wild videos for it like "Sahara" and "poison Love" I also recommend their B-sides. All of them. They have jazz, ballads, rocks, edm, and even cute pop song solos! A lot of them even got MVs.

Thanks for checking out Dreamcatcher’s OOTD! The references to a crown in the MV are related to the Alternate Reality Game (ARG) that DCC has been using to promote the album for the last month. Around a month ago the user ymenehcra popped up on twitter and was tied to the first comeback teaser. Since then, they’ve been tweeting and leaving cryptic messages on Dreamcatcher’s KZbin videos. The messages dealt with an obsession with finding the crown. The user has experienced blackouts and memory loss during this time frame. They went silent before the MV dropped, but I don’t think their role is over as OOTD is the first part of a duology as the next song is supposed to be a parallel universe based on the press releases. This also ties into the flavor text that’s located on the albums which says, “May a different choice save me in another world.” It's going to be interesting to see where this all goes. If you'd like to check out some more stuff from them, give their Dystopia trilogy a listen. The three songs are Scream, Boca, & Odd Eye. This trilogy is a social commentary on online bullying, hate speech, telling haters to shut their boca (mouth in Spanish), and the perfect, but fake, illusion created by social media. Enjoy!

If you like rock, metal, jrock/anime opening theme songs, and/or EDM, you'll enjoy their other songs. They stand out from other kpop groups due to their sound signature, vocals, and story line.

Just to let you know this song is literally satire of being perfect and bad they are from what people have been saying hence the heavy editing of this video. If you want to actually see their actual main concepts with more a rock element see Scream, Boca, Odd eye (Dystopia Trilogy) and Maison, Vision, and Bon Voyage (Apocalypse Trilogy) and go on from there if you're still interested.
