As others stated wished you had done the Arena live album with the new song Wild Boys on it and the A View to a Kill single, and besides those really wished you had done Arcadia side project with Simon,Nick and Roger on it ,it transitions the sound of the band from the previous albums to this one sound wise.,

John's bass and Nile's guitar in the verses is so funky. Those parts really breathe. So judicious in their playing. Simon's vocal is so fresh. He was in peak form here. During the recording of the album, Nick was obsessed with the Sly and the Family Stone album FRESH. He kept asking Nile, "What would Sly do?" I think Sly's influence is especially felt on this track and it's sibling "Skin Trade," my favorite on the album. There's a simple 3 chord electric piano sequence that Nick plays at the very end that I've always loved. (4:59) And the beard. Super scruffy here. Super awesome!

I love that you're doing these by chronological album, but I also highly recommend two big songs they did that aren't exactly part of normal albums. "Wild Boys" (which was the only studio song put on their live album 'Arena' from 1984) and "A View to a Kill" from the soundtrack of the Bond movie of the same name from 1985. Both have official videos and I have a feeling you'll like both of them!

Love it my oldest sisters listend to Duran Duran nonstop and my mom did not aporeciate them... this was part of my childhood, we went to the Duran Duran concert in Phoenix last September and it was amazing! They sound great live and put on a killer show even though they are 30 plus years older!

Before reacting to notorious you missed the seventh stranger (from seven and the ragger tiger), the wild boys (huge hit) and a view to a kill (james bond theme)

@@SephPlays by the way, i suggest you to listen to arcadia "so red the rose", a side project LP recorded by simon le bon and nick rhodes before the notorious LP. It features also herbie hancock, david gilmour, grace jones, mark egan, steve jordan, sting.... darker and more elegant sounding than duran but still with incredible songs and hooks. I love it and i consider it a proper duran album, and one of their best.

In my opinion, the album Notorious is so much better than Seven and the Ragged Tiger. I'm glad you've made it to this album! One thing you need to do is listen to Wild Boys a single that came out between Seven, and Notorious on the album Arena. Also, View to a Kill from a James Bond soundtrack.

I enjoy your reactions but think you miss too much of the music as you're reacting to Simon singing. I'd be interested to hear what you think of stand alone 1984 single 'The Wild Boys' & your continuation through the Notorious album - very different from their first 3 albums.

...by briefly forgetting Dave Gahan's name? Depeche Mode are a lot of Duran Duran fans next favourite music artists & l don't believe that Simon (or any other band members) would disrespect them deliberately.
