The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and the Eagles! There will never be another three Giants like those bands again! The 70’s were other worldly! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Strange you should mention the Beatles in with the 70s bands. They broke up in 1970.

I agree with those three but I would definitely put the Doors in the top 4 somewhere.

No one comes close to Don Felder complimenting songs with his guitar solos. Not just blasting out notes...adding the right amount of flavor

I agree 100 percent-I left a comment similar to yours. He's so underrated -he didn't need to shred to be good-he did just what you said-he complimented the music with so many great riffs.

Some unusual things on this video- Timothy on lead vocals, he’s usually on the high harmonies. Joe Walsh, guitar god, on keyboards. Glenn Frey on piano and back up vocals and Randy Meissner on slide guitar, with Don Henley on drums and backing vocals. Awesome group effort and one of my favorite songs of theirs.
@morgan723592 ай бұрын
Not quite. Timothy B Schmit replaced Randy Meisner in Poco when Randy left Poco to play with the Eagles. When Randy left Eagles, he was, once again, replaced by Timothy. Timothy had already written parts of this song when he joined Eagles. Timothy, Glenn, and Don, finished the song together. That's Joe Walsh on slide, and Don Felder on that great solo. PS I think this song, and Timothy, were gorgeous then and remain so today. Rest peacefully, Randy and Glenn.

Love Don Felders guitar work on this one.

IMO Felder was one of the top three best rock guitarists of all time--listen to the great riffs he played in all of their songs-you don't have to shred the guitar to be considered great-at least in my opinion--my 3 favs are Santana-Keith Richard and Don Felder-they played so many memorable riffs and were so damn good in every record they recorded with their groups. The ending riff here by Felder is a soul catcher.

Timothy B Schmit. Sacramento boy went to LA at 19. Soon became a favorite session background vocalist appearing on scores of songs. He's on many Steely Dan tracks. If you love it, he's probably on it. Replaced Randy Misner in the band Poco, and Randy went to the Eagles. Randy quit the Eagles and they grabbed up Timothy while the Eagles were singing background vocals on Steely Dan's song FM. Timothy has been their bass player ever since. He has 7 solo albums, is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Timothy continues to also appear with big names regularly.

This song was the first time Timothy B Schmit sang lead with the Eagles. As an Eagles fan, and a big Timothy fan, I think every minute of this video matters. You talking over the first minutes means you're missing part of what Eagles intended listeners to hear.
