Great reaction! Your face. Haha. This is my favorite ELO song. That whole album hit me like a ton of bricks in the 1970’s.

From the album 'Eldorado', the titletrack accompanied by the album closer Eldorado Finale will blow you from your seat. How delicate and dark the song is, the more surprising is the ending.

Love this group. ELO had their biggest hits in the 70's-80's & mixed modern rock pop songs with classical overtones. Jeff Lynne wrote most of their songs. They had a lot of great hits such as "Roll Over Beethoven", "Showdown", "Can't Get It Out Of My Head", "Evil Woman", "Strange Magic", "Livin' Thing", "Do Ya", "Rockaria!", "Turn To Stone", "Sweet Talkin' Woman", "Mr. Blue Sky", "Wild West Hero", "Don't Bring Me Down", "Shine A Little Love", "Last Train To London", "Confusion", "Hold On Tight", "Twilight", "The Way Life's Meant To Be", "Here Is The News", "Ticket To The Moon" etc.

As you've been told by many - ELO are one big mountain of gems so here's something that might help you organise/understand your journey: ELO's work can be divided very loosely into 3 phases: Early - where they took the classic rock quartet and added violins and cellos (and other classical instruments) which they overdubbed in the studio (first 2 albums, e.g. 10538 Overture and Roll Over Beethoven); Mid - when they added full orchestra and choir (peek at anything off Face The Music; A New World Record; Out of The Blue); Late - when they increasingly turned to synths for the string sound (try the sublime album 'Time'). Hits are great, but album cuts are equally mind-blowing! I'll give you two: Waterfall and Rain is Falling. Thanks for your reactions (so far...!) Enjoy your journey.

Jeff Lynne, a musical genius. A very talented singer/ songwriter, producer who has written all their big hit songs in the 70’s. Please react to “Tightrope”, “ Livin’ Thing” , “ Strange Magic” and lots more. I’ve been a fan since the 70’s and excited to see them. on their last concert on July 10, 2025 in Manchester, UK. Great reaction!

As everyone has written, there are so many songs to react to. I suggest the next one to be DON’T BRING ME DOWN. It was their biggest US hit and will show you another side of their style. That said, all of ELO’s music is connected by the writing, producing, singing, and pop sensibilities of genius Jeff Lynne.
@cabdriveruk3 жыл бұрын
The band's frontman Jeff Lynne regarded his own songwriting at this point to have reached a new high. "The songs started to flow and most of them came quickly to me. To have all those hits, it was just ...I mean amazing really. Going from doing okay for probably three or four years to suddenly being in the big time, it was a strange but great thing." - Jeff Lynne
