Never apologise for pausing and going back! That's exactly what you should do with his music especially when you're not used to the fast pace, because his lyrics are very good and each word is important to hear and understand what he's saying. You're doing a great job 👍

Infinite was the very first album he ever made. According to him, they only made about 1000 copies, and they sold them mostly out of his trunk. It’s not a bad album at all, it was just before he got recognized

Sayin his daughter's name makes her a target for diss tracks from other rappers. That's how we got some of the best beef/diss tracks from that era. You may check "loose change" from Ja Rule, targeting her at the end. That is how a whole war between EM, 50 Cent, and Dr. Dre vs the best US hip-hop magazine at the time started(or at least got Eminem involved). Which in the end kinda of solidified him even more in hip-hop history You may react to some of the diss tracks or the whole documentary (some short version).

Loving your reactions to Em! Highly recommend you watch also Cleaning out my closet and then Headlights after. Keep in mind there's over a decade between them but both are about his mom and both are very good songs, you'll get a lot more insight into his past. Other suggestions: Beautiful, Sing for the moment, Lose Yourself (his biggest song), Till I Collapse, Space bound, I need a doctor, The Way I am, Haillies song, Like toy soldiers, Not afraid, Walk on water, Rap God, Bad Husband (if you want more context for that one do Kim before but be warned its a tough one to listen to).

Yes, Eminem's actual debute album "Infinit" only sold under 50 copies. I think he sold every one of those copies in person. This was before he was discovered by Dr Dre and had his massive success. When he said he might have stumbled upon something new and had a prediction for the future is about when he invented his artist alterego Slim Shady. He knew he had something genius in this character

After Eminems overdose he lost the ability to write and rap. He had to retrain his brain to put out more music. He has talked about it at length. You can tell the difference in writing before and after the overdose. Dudes been through a ton.

Here I am going through these reactions legit for the 2nd time because I’m a huge fan of how you do them and tend to think out loud naturally, it’s very authentic! With that being said (assuming you care to hear this info): *INFINITE ALBUM* - Was Em’s first official album released back in 1996. He only managed to sell roughly 1,000 copies and therefore was considered a “flop”. *EM RETIRING* - Em had released “Curtain Call” back in 2005 (this is the album “When I’m Gone” was on) but took a 4 year hiatus to deal with his addiction, and came back with the album “Relapse” in 2009 (notorious for his variety of accents used). The media (and his fans) had no idea what Em’s plans were after he disappeared in 2005, there was speculation of retirement, and information was eventually released saying he checked himself into rehab. This is the “I’ll put out this last album” reference he noted in the last (2007) letter - as Relapse was being actively recorded during that time. Luckily, he didn’t retire 🙏🏽 The song you’re reacting to in this video is from his “Revival” album (considered his most recent “flop” since “Infinite”, although still very successful) - “Revival” was released in 2017. In other words, this entire song (and Arose) are essentially a retrospect back to 1995-2007. Hope this is useful! 😊 Please keep doing what you’re doing!

@@FreyaReacts I'm guessing that the phrase "a gift and a curse" is no more true than it is in Em. The price of wearing ones emotions on their sleeve is that people use it as weakness when it's an actual strength. Em to is one the very rare artists that let you all the way while they are alive. I don't have to read a biography on him, written by someone else after he passes away....he gave me it all. I value that.

Another very enjoyable reaction. if you ever wanna branch out from Eminem to another artist with some deeply profound storytelling tracks, check out Kendrick Lamar. He is more of an "album artist" though and his songs gain a lot more meaning if you listen in the context of the album. He is widely regarded as the best artist of his generation
