I don't do research before I listen to a song. I like experiencing a song for the first time knowing nothing about it and it's another way to interact with my subscribers. I like asking questions throughout the reaction as well. Now that I got that out the way this diss track is crazy! Why don't we mention this track with all the other great diss tracks?! As a fellow reactor, I feel you but I've learned to just look up the basic dates. The fans with fill you in with the rest. Especially with “Stans” Post-Recovery Em’s style is different. @@DexTVReacts As a fan, especially his diss tracks, they don't make sense without background. Personally, I like seeing people hear each reply starting from the first to diss. Everlast was in House Of Pain and had the hit "Jump Around" that someone from Cypress Hill worked on too... it was huge (and not bad really) in the very early 90's. He looks old now because 1. he kinda is and 2. he DID have a heart attack or two... knowing that makes this diss hit way different.

Lots of pieces of the story in comments... so heres a summary for context... House of Pain was a rap group in the 90s comprised of 3 guys: Everlast (aka Erik aka Whitey Ford), DJ Lethal, and Danny Boy. The group broke up and DJ Lethal joined Fred Durst's band Limp Bizkit. Everlast went solo. One of his solo albums was "Eat at Whitey's" (in 2000), hence the restaurant references in this song. Before this beef started, there was an incident where Eminem and Everlast saw each other in a lobby... and from Eminem's side of the story, he wasnt sure it WAS Everlast so hesitated to say anything... so Everlast apparently made a subliminal diss in a song at Eminem saying something like if I see shady I'll grab my .380 (which is why Eminem uses that line in his chorus in the 2nd half). So Eminem fired back with the diss track "I Remember", and Everlast responded with "Hailies Comet" (which Everlast claimed was NOT referencing Hailey, Eminem's daughter, but how you gonna diss someone and know nothing about the person? Everyone knew about Hailey at that point, Ja Rule done told Everyone.) So Eminem came back with "Quitter". The beef has since been squashed. This song stands as a testament though of doing a track over a legend's original beat and style and reason and making it sound GOOD, meaning the "Hit Em Up" retake in the 2nd half. And yeah Everlast is only 3 years older than Eminem but did have a heart attack prior to this track. Shady don't hold back. He's a junkyard dog, especially at that time in his life (early 2000s).

Early 2000s Em did have a lot of beef LoL. He was beefing with Cage, Everlast, ICP, Jermaine Dupris, Canibus, Limp Bizkit, Dilated People's, Pet Shop Boys, Ja Rule, Murder Inc (generally), Benzino & The Source Magazine, Will Smith, Christina Aguilera, Moby, Mariah Carey, Triumph The Insult Comic Dog (a puppet), XXL magazine, The 2nd lady of the US, several congress people, a couple civil rights groups, all pretty much simultaneously. Those are the main ones that I can remember, not counting the ones he just dropped some social commentary on or joked about like Britney Spears or Christopher Reeves. These are the ones I believe he was actively mad at and it seemed personal, some much more than others obviously.

Eminem was my first experience of learning high speed English in the early 2000's , I will always remember him for that. It's partially thanks to him that I got to the English level I am at now and my husband and I were able to communicate better (until my hubby learned Japanese)

Age gap is only 4 years but Everlast did have a heart attack b4 this song. Everlast was in the group House of Pain and then switched from rap to country. He made a diss to EM called Halies Comet and EM dissed him b4 before this called...... (edit) I Remember, also 🔥 but EM does song most of it since Everlast went to country EM making fun that way. Limp Biskit is band but Fred Durst was lead guy. EM goes on to diss Fred and DJ Lethal called GIRLS, because Fred was supposed to be on this track and backed out at last minute but EM didn't care til Lethal did an interview saying EM is better MC but Everlast would whoop EM's ass irl. Check out Girls, Bully, The Sauce, The Invasion 1,2,3 and Nail in the Coffin. All but Girls he is dissing Ja Rule and Benzino w/source magazine. Oh and Bagpipes from Baghdad and The Warning Em is dissing Mariah Carey because they saw each other for about 6 months and Mariah denied it publicly and then disses EM with the song Obsessed.

But Everlast was mad that Em didnt acknowledge him when he was about to get on stage. He addresses that in this diss track. Everlast was trying to talk to him, but Em had a show to do. Everlast got mad and dissed him on the Dialated peoples track like said and it ended with this diss i believe. He did say Hailies name in the Dialated peoples song, but in an interview he claimed it wasn't a shot at Em and he didn't know that was his daughters name, in my opinion he was lying about that 😂😂. Everbody knew Em's daughter's name at that point. But they're cool now i believe.
