Em is talking about his album Revival. I personally think is was a dope album, but it did get a lot of hate from a lot of people. It was just something different Em that people weren’t expecting so of course they trashed the album on social media and in magazines. The album still sold of 4 million copies. So in another song of Em’s on the Kamikaze album, Em says that he sold over 4 million records even when he puts out a “bad” album. So that’s what he is referring to with that line...

I think Royce has an amazing career ahead, if people listen to his words, if people want substance and not clowns drinking cough syrup and doing whatever they are doing because it’s not rap. People have to raise their standards and not allow no talents that have been created by labels to profit on followers. I have to ask how anyone can be a fan of that music and not be honest it’s about beats only. And honestly they are saying nothing they aren’t using their platforms for anything real or helpful to any community. And that was raps purpose is.
@davidsiatatgaming3 жыл бұрын
Not everyone writes their own lyrics or they either do it partly. When he refers to those who have ghostwriters he refers to those that don't credit those who write for them, as if they've written themselves. Drake had some controversy once for that The L on his previous album was the album itself, Revival. It was his worst selling and did bad with the critics because he was pretty political on it and got very personal on it. If you want to listen some of its highlights, I personally like River, Offended(if you ignore the hook), and Walk on Water I would say was the best part of it.

Revival wasn't well received - but for an Eminem album. Shit still sold
@piglatin93 жыл бұрын
To answer your first question, It was really a combination of all of it. He dropped his Revival album and he released a track list and a lot of people weren't feeling it because it looked a little more pop than people wanted. It had Beyonce, Alicia Keys, I think Pink was on there and then the album came out and mostly people didn't like it because of the beat choices and maybe thought it was too political. Personally I enjoyed it, wasn't my favorite but I am more about the lyrics and message from Em, the beats never really many nothing to me but he did have some bangers on there. The second question, I think Joyner in that conversation now with Cole, with Kendrick, with Drake, with Big Sean, and IMO Wale as some of the best out there of this generation and I think he will be considered a GOAT sooner rather than later

Revival was seen commercially as a flop hated by critics, there are people who enjoyed the album (including me) but sales weren't great (but that's only by eminem standards) the way forward is to react to a few songs off that album I recomend believe, chloraspetic, nowhere fast (extended version), bad husband and castle and arose together that's a decent balance to figure out if that album is for you or not then eminem had backlash at critics in chloraseptic remix and Caterpillar that's the best order to do it in imo

His album before this was called Revival and it was met with a lot of criticism. It didn’t sell very well by Eminem standards (as his record would hit double and triple platinum in a week). It isn’t his worst album by far (that honor goes to relapse). The criticism of Revival is what made him drop Kamikaze as a surprise album.

If you haven't already listened to it (I didn't see it in your uploads but I don't know what you've heard IRL), you should check out Tech Nine's song Sriracha feat. Joyner Lucas and Logic. You get more Tech (always good), a great Joyner verse (ditto), and a Logic verse that was so disappointing to Tech that Joyner jumped on the track to save the day. Or something. Idk, there was some drama or 'nother. Either way, good track.
