Aaaaah, yes!!! Fates Warning. Great band! I saw them live opening for Savatage( 2001 or 2002 ). This video doesn’t give them justice. Please check out another one!! 🙏. Thanks for this one, as usual!!! 🤘🤘🎸🎸

Fates Warning are one of the Godfathers of Prog (along with Dream Theater and Queensryche), and easily the most consistent of the three.

It always brightens up my day when I watch you three beautiful ladies enjoying life and music together as a family. My mother Cathy feels the same way. Wintersun Alex ❄️❤️

You guys should check out Keep It True Metal: Awakening The Guardian...its a live reunion concert featuring the original lineup. It does have little better quality sound.

Favorite band of all time. Thanks for giving them a listen. Way underrated. And I might add, if you’d like to hear how far they have progressed, (or should I say changed, depending on what you like,) listen to Silent Cries !

Fates Warning was formed in Connecticut in the early 80's originally as the American heavy metal version of Iron Maiden... but were unable to reach the same level of commercial success as US metal bands like Queensryche, Dio, Savatage, etc. Their original line-up consisted of: Jim Matheos (guitar), John Arch (vocals), Victor Arduini (lead guitar), Joe DiBiase (bass) and Steve Zimmerman (drums)... and they debuted in 1984 w/ 'Night on Brocken'... releasing 2 more albums - 'The Spectre within' (1985)... 'Awaken the Guardian' (1986)... (Frank Aresti on lead guitar replaced Victor Arduini in '86) With Fates Warning gaining popularity in Europe, demands of touring led to vocalist John Arch leaving the band by 1987... A young Ray Alder (vocals) replaced him and became Fates Warning's permanent singer; he debuted on their 4th album 'No exit' in 1988... Mark Zonder (drums) joined in 1989 as the band's sound became more progressive & technical than 80's heavy metal on 5th album 'Perfect symmetry' (1989) 'Parallels' (1991) became their most successful record as Fates Warning stayed active on tour... Next album 'Inside out' (1994) enjoyed MTV airplay w/ the single 'Monument'... but record sales were not better. Both bassist Joe Dibiase and lead guitarist Frank Aresti left the band by '95. Rather than call it quits, guitarist Jim Matheos crafted a new album 'A pleasant shade of grey' (1997) comprised of 1 epic track in 12 parts... Ray Alder (vocals) and Mark Zonder (drums) were joined by Armored Saint bassist Joey Vera and former Dream Theater keyboardist Kevin Moore (who declined to tour)... Their 1998 2 CD live album 'Still life' featured Bernie Versailles on lead guitar and Jason Keazer on keyboards and had a full live performance of 'A pleasant shade of grey'. 'Disconnected' was released in 2000... and 10th album 'FWX' in 2004 were followed by drummer Mark Zonder leaving the band. Bobby Jarzombek (drums) joined full time eventually as Fates Warning only toured occasionally. Lead guitarist Frank Aresti rejoined Fates Warning (in the studio) in 2013 for the long-awaited album 'Darkness in a different light'... It was followed by 'Theories of flight' in 2016... and 'Long day goodnight' in 2020 (Mike Abdow contributed the latter album's guitar solos) Fates Warning reformed the 'Awaken the Guardian' line-up to play select shows... One performance was released as the 2017 live CD/DVD 'Awaken the Guardian live' featuring Matheos, Arch, Aresti, DiBiase and Zimmerman. Recently, guitarist Jim Matheos announced that Fates Warning would not release any more new music... Vocalist Ray Alder had already recorded projects like Engine and has more projects underway... Bassist Joey Vera and drummer Bobby Jarzombek also have other bands and projects. Jim Matheos also started working w/ original FW vocalist John Arch in 2003 and has released 2 albums as Arch/Matheos - 'Sympathetic resonance' (2011) and 'Winter Ethereal' (2019) Check out more studio versions of Fates Warning songs - 'Monument' ... 'Point of view' ... 'Through different eyes' ... 'Simple human' ... 'Silent cries' ... 'The Apparition'... 🤘🤘🔥🔥

Pretty in-depth description. They're my favorite band. Every album is awesome. I'm disappointed they didn't watch the official live video. I wanted to introduce the ladies to my favorite band but this version is a terrible version. Shouldn't do reactions to videos recorded off cellphones because they always sound terrible.

This is my request. They have an official video that's live. You're watching what someone recorded on their phone. That's why it sounds so bad. You should take the time to watch the official video. It's sounds way better and you see them up close. The official video is what I intended for you to watch. This version is terrible compared to that one. Fates Warning is considered one of the pioneers of progressive metal. Dream Theater names them as an influence. They have a lot of rhythm changes and odd time signatures in their songs. Thank you for doing my request anyway. If you watch the official video you would enjoy it 100% better.

One of my favorites from Fates Warning. Probably listened to this one continuously for couple years. This was definitely a bad recording. "From the Rooftops" is a pretty cool song and lyric video from them.
