There were a few Albums that everyone in my circle had in the 70s. Carole King's "Tapestry", Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" Simon and Garfunkel's Bridge over Trouble Waters, Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Chicago's Chicago and Fleetwood Mac's Rumours Of course people had others, but those seemed to be universal.

This is one of Lindsey Buckingham's best songs. He was so underrated for his talents. He wrote songs arranged all the instruments and produced their music.

Stevie Nicks wrote the lyrics to The Chain (about Lindsey, ironically.) John McVie wrote bassline. Lindsey Buckingham sang and added the guitar solo at the end.

Fleetwood’s “The Chain” is the perfect example of the musical technique of “tension and release”. That simple bass line and percussive crescendo explodes into a high powered guitar riff and vocal refrain that stays with you long after the song is done. The hard-driving beat and passionate lyrics and vocals make this song a classic.

This is easily one of the best and at the same time, most unlikely albums ever recorded. There is a whole lot of back story to this album, but in short... the 2 females were married/in relationship with 2 other members of the band and at time of recording this, they were breaking up (not the band) and basically forced their other half to sing songs they wrote for/about eachother about those breakups and the emotions that come with that. It's clear in this song, but some of the titles say all you need to know, songs like "you can go your own way" "i dont want to know" "never going back again" and "second hand news" tell you all. The fact this album was even made is a miracle on its own, the second miracle is that they never split up as a band over it. They knew that the band was more than their personal lives, they knew that what they had, music wise, was special and they did not give up on that. Truly an amazing band with the most unlikely backstory. Thnx for the upload Scribe :)

Its been said and I believe the only guitarist who might, I said might have bern better, had he lived was Randy Rhodes, Ozzy Osbourne's 1st lead guitarist, song writer and best friend when He first went solo in 79/80. When you hear what that young man did with an electric guitar and that almost 40 years ago without all the tech today to help out damn! Each performance was unique, on purpose. Blizzard ofOz , Diary of a madman, features his work. Ozzy put out a "Tribute Album" for Randy Rhodes. Features his gutitar work through out. Before he was with Ozzy, he was in Quiet Riot ( Cum on feel the noise). He was the teacher to Zakk Wylde. Who still plays with Ozzy to this day. That is a legacy and a tragedy the world will never know what could have been.

Scribe, I don't know if it will interest you, but the desk that album was recorded on turned out to be very special indeed. The guy was virtually hand building them one at a time in the U.K, but the number of hit albums that ran through the small number of desks that saw the light of day is mind boggling. It could have been just chance, but Dave Grohl didn't seem to think so, (Smells Like Teen Spirit was recorded on it). When word got around that Sound City was selling up, he got there first literally driving his pick up to the back doors, loading up the desk and installing it in his own studio before anyone could say "I'll offer you..." , where the great and the good are invited to have fun on it. Somewhere out there is a documentary on Sound City and that desk. I kid you not. Not seen it in many, many a year but it must be around somewhere.

Stevie Nicks is 73 years old and still going strong songwriting and singing. This brand new video, Show Them the Way, with David Grohl on drums, (Foo Fighters), Dave Stewart on guitar, (Eurythmics), and Cameron Crowe directing the video, (Jerry McGuire, Almost Famous, Oscar winners, plus many more). She said the song is based on a dream she had where she met the Kennedy's and ML King, but it also is apropos for the times we are living in now! GREAT song! So glad I found it! The album cut is great, but this 8 minute version that Stevie Nicks recorded with Bob Welch, Mic Fleetwood and Christine McVie at the Roxie is as badass a version as I've ever heard (kzbin.info/www/bejne/oonVk2N6ipmepZY).
