They were invited to preform this and were the only preformence to get a standing ovation at the show. Most of the band members play multiple instruments.

I think between the two brothers alone they play a total of 27 instruments.

For King and Country are amazing! Try looking for live arena performances. They sell out 10,000 seat arenas and have won 4 Grammys!

For King and Country has a live Christmas concert done a couple of years ago in Phoenix, AZ that is phenomenal. It includes this song, among others…they’re all great.

Another fantastic suggestion from the same category would be David Phelps "O Holy Night".

I've been a huge fan, music purchaser, and concert attendee of 4K&c since 2012. This tour is one of our family's favorite!! But you have to understand what inspired them to do this. They were inspired by one of the biggest and longest touring Christian rock bands, Petra, who did their take on this song, a heavy rock version in the early 2000's (video is on KZbin). However, Petra was inspired in their version by another Christian rock band, Whiteheart, who released their arrangement in the late 1980's, around 1989. Their version was not released on a singular titled album but on a "radio-play-only" collection of Christmas songs that was put together by their label. I know this because I was working for the original Christian music radio station in Nashville, TN (WNAZ) at that time. Until the Smallbone's released this arrangement to this song, with its remarkable percussion-loaded instrument mastery, the Whiteheart arrangement was my favorite. However, I never got to see them perform it live. I have seen the live concert of 4K&c Christmas tour for the past 4 years and every time it is better than the last! It's worth seeing in person, if you get the chance, GO!!!! ❤

You need to watch the official video for this song. It is less "energetic" but still good. The drummer boy in the video is the son of Luke the adult drummer. He and his brother Joel Smallbone are the singers/leads of the group. They do a great live show.

The sideways accordion is called a harmonium for those that don't know. Did you notice Joel throw the tambourine across the stage? Luke's son now plays the Drummer Boy. I think he is 7. "God Only Knows" is a song that saved my life at one point; it shows the struggle of depression ans suicide: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h2bGgYSdaNSkY9Esi=mjcuiW5xELlIibhh

I'm not a Christmas music fan but this was really cool. The only exception is 'Carol of the Bells' (instrumental) which rarely gets played.

Hey if you enjoyed For King and Country, you should also hear some NEEDTOBREATHE. Rock and Roll band with success in the Christian genre, but you will have probably also heard their music in commercials and American Idol and such. You MUST hear Bear Rhinehart's voice, SalvoG.

Oh, I forgot, their Christmas songs are covers of Go Tell it on the Mountain and Silent Night, Holy Night.

OK on another note.. The band, "Here Comes the Mummies" Carol of the Bells. It's... really funny, a bit ridiculous, and Good for a light hearted laugh! Good Luck. (their 'regular songs' are Funk Rock with a horn section)

Way to f*** up a sweet and plaintive song and do away with its intended reverence. What's the focal point here - the song or the actors? If I were in the audience I'd be standing - to show them the way to the exit. Stick with the Bob Seger version.
@mayLibertyprevail1a Жыл бұрын
Salvo should definitely check out Bob Seger's version. Love it!
