This song and “seven bridges road” by the eagles, are tremendous harmonies. My heart explodes with joy when I hear them.

Siobhan = ShaVAUGHN. In Gaelic, when you have a BH together, it usually makes a V sound. When you have SI together, it's usually an SH sound. 'SIO' together is usually pronounced "sha."

Don't know if anyone mentioned this fact, but the Lowdown won the Grammy Award for Best R&B song, making Boz Scaggs the first white artist to win.

Saw Arlo perform this live at the first concert for Walden Woods in Worcester MA back in 1991. Was supposed to be a Don Henley concert but he organized it into a benefit to help save the Walden Woods, Place where Henry David Thoreau wrote one of his most famous works. Was a great show even featuring a mini Eagles Reunion of Don Henley, Glenn Frey and Timothy B. Schmidt doing a whole set of 8 or so Eagles tunes.

Yeah, with some exceptions, most of Weird Al's parodies aren't making fun of the original artist or the song. Smells Like Nirvana leans a little bit in that direction, and Six Words Long is absolutely brutal (because the original song really, really deserves it); but in general, most of them are poking fun at something else entirely. He also does original songs. Hardware Store is amazing. Bars.

Thank you for the memories of a room full of college students singing along to this. A college friend of mine & I never failed to play this on the jukebox when we went out for an evening in the mid-80s. Our table would start singing along & suddenly the whole room was doing the same. We all loved this tune. It crossed every socioeconomic divide with its cool smoothness. Magical!

I'm sorry but I just couldn't hande the unintentional disrespect towards MARIAH at the begging. Most of her songs are originals written and produced beautifully by her and she has 19 #1s hits. She's according to experts one of the greatest singers ever (her or Whitney being better is a matter of preference) but I see that you didn't give yourself the chance to listen to her songs (weirdly tho) so I get it.

Many people write : The studio album version is better. Of course in a studio they can manipulate a lot. But as a Doors fan every concert was something special, have many live boots and Jim chances a lot of the songs live. So if you were lucky and could see 3 shows all 3 were different. Later it went worser but still way better than a boring repeat myself show. Totally at the end 1/2 1969/ 1970....and if you see the Isle of Wight footage Jim was "empty".

Very nice and respectful reaction friend. Sadly, this song surpasses the ability of most reactors to comprehend the art/depth/emotion and embody this masterpiece. It's a compliment for me to say that this reaction was not an insult to Don's genius.
