First time hearing Forestella 포레스텔라 - Hijo de la Luna (REACTION)

Ko Woorim can achieve the low notes smoothly and comfortably because he is a singer with a basso profundo voice…a rare type of bass. An opera singer by training and experience albeit only a little because he was only 22 and in his 3rd year of his Bachelor Degree of Music, Classic Voice, when he became part of Forestella in a tv competition PHANTOM SINGER 2 in 2017 looking for a crossover quartet. Over the years he has worked at modulating his voice and increasing his vocal range to better suit a larger range of songs and genres.

Thanks for the reaction! But Hijo de la Luna is a song from Spain, not Mexico. José Cano is the song's creator, he made it for the band he was part of called Mecano.

Thank you for your reaction! This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; an audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world! Forestella has sung great covers like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Hijo de la Luna, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Shape of You in English, Spanish and African Zulu is fantastic indeed. You can even see them dancing singing Smooth Criminal as well! If you are a LOL fan, check their Warriors and Legends Never Die! And they broke the record of their own with EXO's MAMA winning 6 trophies for King of Kings in a row in Immortal Songs. Check their magnificent performances of Bad Romance and Lazenca Save us in King of Kings and Unwritten Legend too. Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (ex-research chemist, rock vocalist with soprano head voice falsetto), Cho MinGyu (classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (musical actor, 159th King of the Masked Singers, emotion convincer good at R&B, Pop). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. They meet almost everyday to practice together. In a radio program the leader (Cho MinGyu) revealed it would be around 20 days they didn't meet in the year. Bae DooHoon also said they don't meet 1~2 days in a month. Forrestella does it regardless of music genre. It keeps the original sound intact and gives a touching harmony. Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are the World, Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal, Thriller, Heal The World, Lady Gaga's Bad Romance, Ed Sheeran's Shape of You, and more, There are many songs in the pop genre, too.

Hi thank you very much for your reaction to Forestella. I have not heard them sing a song that I don't like. My favorite songs are Champions, Save Our Lives, and White Night. They have done superb renditions of Bad Romance, Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are The Champions, Scarborough Fair, Sweet Dreams, and Smooth Criminal. The songs that they sang on Immortal Songs 2 are mostly in Korean, and are also worth listening to, e.g. Lazenca Save Us, As I live, Dead Drunk..the list continues. Welcome to Forestella! They are called the “Kings of Harmony” and interpret songs in many genres and languages. A few of my favorites; “Bohemian Rhapsody”(best cover ever!), “Shape of you”, “Bad Romance”, “Scarborough Fair”, “Time in a bottle”, “Je suis malade”, then their own songs; “For Life”, “Save our lives, and “Utopia”. You will be amazed at every turn with these amazing vocalists, Ko Woorim (the base, opera singer), Kang Hyungho, tenor and soprano, never had formal training; he is the one who started this song, Cho Mingyu, opera singer, tenor leggiore, and finally Bae Dohoon, tenor with an amazingly expressive voice. FORESTELLA is a Korean (classical) CROSSOVER vocal group. Mostly they cover legendary songs of ALL genres in different styles and languages. Their style of crossover ((rock/pop/opera is unique. "Hijo de la Luna" is one of their (ingeniously) classic covers. But they are VERY VERSATILE and also cover Songs in more rock or pop style.
