May I also bring to your attention how good their French is? As a French speaker I can attest that they did a wonderful job of it! About the musical arrangement, both Mingyu and Woorim are excellent pianists, Hyungho and Dohoon play guitar, and my understanding is that they all participate in the musical arrangements. More Forestella please! « Save our lives » is first in the trilogy.

They usually participate directly in arranging their songs. Although there is a music director in the program, the arrangements come from their ideas. In particular, Kang Hyung-ho and Bae Doo-hoon earned the nickname 'idea bank' from this program, and Kang Hyung-ho (pitta) in particular actively participates in music by directly taking charge of the team's producer and vocal direction.

Lara Fabian a donner une certaine dimension a cette chanson a travers son interpretation piur transmetttre une émotion "féminine " de cette chanson. Forestella l interprète avec le côté masculin de cette même emotion. Thank you for reacting to Forestella's incredible performance ❤❤❤❤ You won't always see Forestella completely changing the instrumental arrangements on every song they sing, as they are very sensitive artists and know that some songs are better the way they are (or so they think - especially the Queen and MJ songs that they've done covers), but you'll always see a different approach to the vocals and harmonies (which seems obvious since they're a group and they can do it, but they never do the obvious thing - they're always beyond what you expected or imagined and that makes everything incredible)! And the way they always deliver it... no matter if it's meant to be sad, happy, funny, moving or to make us reflect... you'll be transported to that state of mind - at least if you're listening carefully. As for the trilogy is a common understanding among the fans that the 3rd part of it was not released yet. Some fans see the song White Night as part of the trilogy (and it could be as it has the same concept as I see) but after it they released the song Kool (a kpop song with a lot of meaning to the fans) and they left a message on this mini-album saying that Kool was a spinoff from the trilogy (it brings elements of it) and it was being release in the middle of the trilogy.

Regarding their ages, Bae Doohoon (oldest, with experience in musical theater - the baritone/baritenor) is 38 years old, born in 1986; then we have Hyungho (the countertenor) he's 36, born in 1988; Mingyu (leader, clasically trained light tenor) is 34 years old, born in 1990; and lastly, the youngest, Ko Woorim (bass, classically trained) is currently 29 and was born in 1995.

❤You hit the nail on the head about this being an homage …they chose a Montreal concert version of Lara Fabian’s to interpret... I still have a visceral reaction to this performance. Serge Lama reached out to them to congratulate them on their performance and then uploaded the video to all platforms in France and asked everyone to watch it. The audience you see here for this live performance mainly consisted of fellow winning contestants and the judges panel with a handful of special guests during another covid lockdown in the first half of 2021 for the Phantom Singer All Stars …a friendly spin-off competition created because Season 3 Phantom Singer winner La Poem plus the 2nd and 3rd placed quartets could not debut or tour due to all such events being cancelled incl FORESTELLA’s tour. So winners of season 1-3 came together and an online audience was treated to some really high calibre performances.

White Night is not the third installment. There are no chapters or story set up like the other two songs. It is a beautiful song that blends well with the narrative of the other two, but it's not the third in the Trilogy.

Save Our Lives was the first in the Trilogy. Snow Globe, an animated video that they haven’t performed live yet, once Woorim comes back I am sure that they will have a live performance, but we know what we hear in a video, they easily can do live. Desposito is fun too. What a lovely treat for today, I kept thinking that this was your reaction to Lara, which you can believe I watched Many times. Thank you so much for giving so much love to our Fore! My favorite part of this song is where they go acapella and they literally sound like the accordion. It's crazy beautiful. As for the Trilogy. The third installment has yet to be released (although many will say White Night, but it's not part of the trilogy even though it fits so well with the narrative). So you have Save Our Lives and Utopia so far, where they represent the Elements and clearly, not all of them are the good guys. ;) It's fun. 'Shape of You' is an EXCELLENT choice. They REALLY put the Forestella spin on it.

Thanks for the reaction. The reason there is little applause after the performance is because there is no audience during the COVID-19 period. This is because in that concert hall, there are only the judges and the singers who compete together in the program.

While I agree that some of their arrangements are over the top, they also do amazing covers that are true to the original that are just breathtaking. I highly recommend reacting to Snail (달팽이) from Phantom Singer All Stars or While Living (살다가) from Immortal Songs. These are some of my favorite Korean ballads that they sing!! I think you would really enjoy them!

This song still gives me the shivers each time I hear it from them! and the original singer serge lama praised this exact performance on his twitter 3 years ago... Save Our Lives is first in the trilogy. Utopia is second. The third hasn't been released yet. It will be a while since Woorim is in the army for another 10 months. They've done a few other songs since they released Utopia. One Kpop style song called Kool (there's a story behind this one we can explain if you watch it), 2 more traditional classical crossover songs called White Night and Snow Globe, and a ballad called Chagall's Dream. The songs that you seem to like that are "over the top" seem to be the ones that they perform on Immortal Songs and Phantom Singer All Stars. This one, Time In a Bottle and Shape of You all came from Phantom Singer All Stars. It was a friendly weekly competition between the top 3 teams from all 3 seasons. Forestella ramped up their arrangement and their willingness to experiment with Shape of You and won the episode! ETA: yes I went to check and so far only Utopia is an original song and all the others you reacted to were on Immortal Songs, Phantom SInger or All Stars.

I highly recommend Forestella's Mini Album, which has Save Our Lives, Moonlight (which is Greensleeves with different, original lyrics and arrangement) and For Life. I also recommend Forestella's more recent performances, A Story Sadder than Sadness (beautiful voices, highly emotional, in Korean), White Night, and Snow Globe, which was composed by Kang Hyung Ho (the soprano/tenor, utterly beautuful soprani/counter-tenor-like voice, unlike any voice I have heard. Clear, not heavy like some female or counter-tenor voices.) In sum, I truly appreciate your musical analyses and your kind personalities.

❤That would be The Beginning : World Tree album released in 2022. Moonlight has a gorgeous Intro on the album too😊. They also have a mini album UNFINISHED released in November 2023 which features Snow Globe (not a Christmas m/v) and CHAGHALL’S Dream for which they’d released an m/v on 20th November 2023, the day Woorim entered military camp.

I'm going to qualify my above comment about this performance being the most outstanding collaboration I've seen and heard, by saying that Ma Jia and Cai Chengyu doing "Grande Amore" on "Super Vocal" competition, is sublime. You should check out that Chinese programme. Some amazing singers and Performances... including 4 big burly guys over 6 foot (Cai Chengyu, Ju Hongchuan, Yu Di and Kai Wang) singing... Beyonce's "Halo". 😂 Yet.. 😍 And the amazing "Dimash-lite" in the form of Gao Tian-He. Oh, and Zhou Shen, Elvis Wang Xi and Ayanga. Loved that programme.

Before starting the trilogy, I strongly recommand SNOW GLOBE which is composed by Kang Hyung-ho and all the other members are participating in vocal arrangement. Sadly, there is no live performance of this song yet, Since Ko(Bass) went to serve his military duty right after releasing Snow Globe. Also please check out 'Phantom of the Opera' by Kang, he performed two different parts (both male and female) by himself. That is something all human beings must watch...

Great version from Forestella. Could it be otherwise, they are so great. When the first singer started with his deep voice, it immediately made me think of the duet of this song between Slimane and Lara that they did very recently in Brussels, Belgium. It was Slimane's concert, he has a deep voice too. He did the first verse alone and when Lara came on stage, she received a standing ovation even while she was singing. The duet and the interpretation was phenomenal. It deserves to be seen. Bravo again to Forestella!!!

Some of their most iconic performances come from that show, including Shape of You which you guys want to check out next. I cannot wait😊 Looking very much forward to it!
