AWWW, It’s TOO BAD you guys didn’t react to the live performance at La Nit. Their chemistry together is ADORABLE (it’s easy to see they were good friends and quite fond of each other). And, Montserrat’s energy onstage matches Freddie’s… their BOTH firecrackers!

Freddie and Montserrat did an entire album together and were incredibly close friends. And yes, she was a world famous soprano at the time they collaborated. They did the song "Barcelona" for the 1992 Olympics (Barcelona was the host city and her city of birth). Of course Freddie didn't live long enough to do it with her there.

Hello, Freddie always liked opera, one day he went to see her in Montserrat at a concert and he was fascinated by her voice and insisted that they sing together. She already knew his music because her children listened to it all the time but she didn't understand how to merge both styles. After several rehearsals and musical arrangements, she accepted the proposal and they became great friends. You have to listen to the whole CD and "Like a dream". With her voice she could break crystal glasses. She was a great lady inside and outside of the show, there is an interview that was done with both of them before presenting the show "Barcelona". HUGS!!!!!!!!! • Comentarios

Freddie was an opera fan and saw her sing, word got out and meeting between two was set up and they got together to sing. Found out it worked with their voices and recorded an album. What a matchup! He was heavily influenced by Aretha Franklin. BJ did a very good job in pronouncing her name! Most really butcher it. Other songs if interested are Barcelona and How Can I Go On.

Freddie saw Montsy in an opera..was captivated by her voice...he sent her a recording of him singing (I think it was called “Exercises in Free Love”....she invited him to go to Spain to meet her...their first recording together was “Barcelona”...it was the anthem for the Barcelona Olympics the year after Freddie died....a lot of singers approached her after Freddie died wanting to sing with her...her reply was”no, only Freddie”🤩 btw Freddie never had vocal training....he started out very well...won a most beautiful baby competition...became a boxing champion...then was a graphic designer....he designed the Queen logo that you see at the beginning of some videos...also the”Flash” symbol...somebody said on KZbin..”it’s not fair that someone should be so gifted...save some perfection for the rest of us”❤️
