You know them for pop music like Dynamite or Butter probably but hey also have RnB, Hip Hop, Ballads and a lot more in their Discography. They experiment a lot. You should check out his other music video called Wild Flower, it's a beautiful and emotional music video. RM is the leader and 1 of the 3 rappers in the group BTS from South Korea. He's 28 and has been a member of BTS for almost 10 years. His real name is Namjoon but he used to call himself Rap Monster, he changed his name officially to RM in 2017 because he no longer identified with the name Rap Monster. RM has had 2 solo mixtapes RM (2015) and mono. (2018) and 1 official album that just came out called Indigo (2022). BTS is the biggest music group in the world but they are focusing on solo projects right now because all 7 members have to enlist and serve in the Korean military for 18-21 months. Military service is mandatory for all able bodied men in South Korea. Jin who is the oldest member in BTS enlisted yesterday, the others will enlist after their solo schedules are complete and will reunite in 2025. I hope you will check out more RM and BTS.

RM was a well known underground battle rapper prior to BTS, he had a reputation for destroying rappers at battles even though he was just a teenager. BTS was built around RM. He made 2 mixtapes previously - RM and Mono. He samples from J. Cole songs for his songs Monster and God Rap. I suggest going through both mixtapes, songs like Do You, Joke, Seoul, Life, and Moonchild. And also go through his entire album Indigo that this Still Life song is from. First track Yun features the queen of soul Erykah Badu. BTS has been making music for nearly 10 years by the way, they started out as a hiphop group and have a lot of hiphop-heavy songs. For example, Born Singer and Hip Hop Lover are 2 of their rap-heavier songs that are for hiphop fans. You have to be very knowledgeable about old-school hiphop to catch all their references in Hip Hop Lover. Aside from RM, BTS has 2 other rappers: - Suga who goes by Agust D for his solo work. He was a former underground battle rapper too. He has 2 mixtapes Agust D and D-2. I suggest his songs Agust D, The Last and Daechwita. - J-Hope, professionally trained as a hiphop dancer. He has 1 mixtape Hope World and 1 solo album Jack In the Box. I suggest his songs Daydream and Baseline from his mixtape, Arson and More from his solo album. Their 3 rappers also made several rap songs together. They got older ones like their Cyphers #1 - #4. Their Cyphers Medley live performance is where you can see the 3 rappers perform all the Cyphers together in a medley. Outro: Tear by the 3 rappers is another great rap song from them. In my opinion, it's one of the best BTS songs.

Well a quick suggestion, if you liked his music i would definitely suggest you to listen to his first official solo album INDIGO & the mv for wild flower, the title track and please make sure to look at the lyrics. If you want to know the creative process in the making of indigo i highly recommend you to watch 'Indigo magazine film' on bts' official youtube channel BANGTANTV and RM's interview with zach sang. Kim Namjoon, also known by his stage name RM is the leader of BTS. He puts a lot of thoughts in his works, both as an individual and as a group. He's been into music for more than 10 years. Talking about BTS, they've been active as a group for about 10 years. People might feel their growth/popularity is sudden but believe me that's not true. BTS grew little by little everyday. They always take part in the creative process in their works which is not a common thing in kpop. They make music inspired from real life experiences and have a very diverse discography. BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan in korean which means bulletproof boyscouts. Bangtan means 'resistant to bullets'. They named their fans ARMY which is an abbreviation for Adorable Representative Mc for Youth. Some quick suggestions, if you're interested in rap i would definitely suggest you UGH (live performance in the yet to come busan concert) and Outro:Tear (live at the wembley) IF you are interested in BTS, i would suggest you one of my personal fav songs/mv "BLACK SWAN" -okay im gonna stop here cuz i didn't realise that i wrote a whole essay here. Well he didn't come out of no where thats for sure, you should check out his new album Indigo (still life is on the album) he also had 2 mix tapes before this and several other songs release on sound cloud for diffferent things. But if i were you i'd also check out BTS all of the are extremely talented together and individully. RM is the leader, his writing amazing i wish you'd had the captions on. Oh also RM's real name is Kim Namjoon, random cool fact he has an IQ of 148. You should listen to RM (Kim Namjoon) rap with the BTS rap line ( RM, SUGA, J-hope) Ugh, Tear, Baepsae, Mic Drop with Steve Aolki, On-Kinetic Manifesto film, Black Swan, Blood, Sweat and Tears... They write and produce most of their own songs. Being in the US, you may only be familiar with their Americanized Pop post-Covid songs like Butter, Dynamite and Permission to Dance that get the radio play. But that's not what they're really about. They're beloved for their deep and meaningful lyrics and multi-genre music. They are not a bubble-gum boy band pop group. They are deeply respected and have made music with Wale (Change), Megan the Stallion, Coldplay, Erica Badu, Anderson .Paak, Charlie Puth, etc, You can bet that these super-talented musicians aren't collaborating with BTS or solo BTAS members unless they were ultra talented and respected.
