My little sister was CRAZY for this band back in the 80's. For years, she had a thin silver bangle that Michael Hutchence had thrown out into the audience. They are great, aren't they? That interesting scratchy effect on the figure of Michael dancing (and a couple of other spots in the video) was achieved by taking the frames of the video and physically photocopying them onto paper, then rephotographing the copies to reform them as an animation, after which they layered that animation into the final video. :)

I’m a straight guy so I can’t speak to whether or not they have the same sex appeal. As far as attitude goes, I’ve read a lot more about Jim than Michael but I’ve always been into the music business and I’m pretty sure I would’ve heard rumors of Michael living a life anywhere close to Jim’s. One of the best music videos from the 80s -- It won 1988 VMA "Video of the Year" (back when the VMAs actually meant something) Some of the "images" were hand-drawn images of actual film (frame-by-frame). All of the images, hand-drawn combined with actual film images, are then cut and imposed on each other, then a picture is taken of everything, frame-by-frame, to create the finished video. Painstaking work to create a finished product of sheer brilliance.

Back in the 80s, my sister used to think the lyrics were, "Your lips are so raw." She always thought they needed Chap-Stick. Oh, fun times. Also, the album transition from "Need You Tonight" to "Mediate" is outstanding. Mediate is a sleeper hit.

Oh INXS! I saw them in 1986 in KC and was right next to Michael Hutchence on a catwalk. He was wearing an ripped up Clash tshirt and brown leather pants. The moment of a lifetime!

One of the best bands live! Micheal was so beautiful and talented, his fellow band members were hardworking and extremely talented too! Good times, great memories. Miss him still!

To get the true INXS experience…..LIVE is where it’s at!!

You didn't watch the version with Mediate attached to the end of it? You're not getting the total experience. That's was the truly iconic part of the video that was duplicated and parodied for years afterward.

Okay you still haven't listened to "Original Sin" "Suicide Blonde", "Don't Change", "What You Need", "Beautiful Girl" I know missing some more but at least those too you can add to your list of INXS songs to react to! Next INXS song y’all need to react to is “Don’t Change,” it’s probably one of their BEST songs in my opinion. You both are gonna love it to death!

I can't believe anyone would recommend this song and not stress getting the video that goes into "Mediate".

INXS prompted me to visit Perth Australia (where they're from); I love this band SO INCREDIBLY MUCH.. EACH OF THEIR ALBUM TRACKS ARE TOTALLY UNIQUE .. some bands can have the "same sound" but bands like INXS and Led Zeppelin where so effen unique.. INXS music will always be evergreen, it doesn't age. They found their own sound.. .and many have TRIED to emulate.. but haven't.

They Farris brothers met Michael Hutchence in High School in Forest Hill, New South Wales, and they formed a band. The Farris Brothers' parents moved back to Perth where they were originally from, and the band followed but were only there as a band for 8 or 9 months.. Michael Hutchence said so when asked in American Bandstand. They were mainly based in Sydney, thereafter, initially around Avalon and Whale Beach area.

Man I forgot how great INXS was. Did you react to their song "Mediate"? "Kiss the Dirt" was also another one of their up tempo danceable hits.
