Jelly Roll was in a gang & went to prison at 18, Came out at 23 & changed his life. He says he knows who he is writing for... who his audience is. In this case, his recorded version is much better, sound wise. His song 'Need a favor' with video is amazing as well. This is his song & they are on a country award show. Lainey is a new country star as well. She is in Hardy's song/video for 'Wait in the truck' & it is a must see. To see just Lainey, check out 'Watermelon moonshine' or 'Heart like a truck' for a ballad or 'Cookin' with grease' for a sassy song.

His solo performance of this in the studio is amazing. You can really hear him sing without the nerves he had. Even if you don’t do a reaction (but you should, it’s great) it’s worth watching that one. It’s better than the recorded for the album version. But Jelly is wearing a khaki colored jacket (it’s probably one of his highest viewed, sorry I don’t have the link). It’s better than this version I think. You can FEEL it

Love all of Jelly Roll’s music!!! You really should check out the official music video for this song (I believe it has live audio and is a one take video). Jelly seemed nervous in this performance but even so, he still killed it. His story is so powerful and inspiring!! He just seems like a genuinely great person that never gave up on his dreams and put in the work to make them come true!!!
