Johnny came on this track blazing. I probably was 4 when this album came out so I am now discovering his music as an adult. I just heard Take Me(I’m Yours) by chance this morning driving to work and had to find the whole album. I just love his smooth, sensual voice. And to think he was singing like this with that same deep voice at 14 years old! He said record labels didn’t know what to do with him because he was a little kid with a full grown voice😂

I’m with @ezekielmajor5511. I thought Lady Dujour was the best track off of that album. Believe it or not, commercially, this song didn’t even chart with the other hits off that 1990 “Johnny Gill” album. The top song was My My My, the he had Rub You the Right Way, Fairweather Friend and Wrap My Body Tight. Lady Dujour was a B-side hidden gem. The first time I heard it, the Detroit Pistons beat the Portland Trailblazers in the 1990 NBA Finals. I was HOOKED on that song ever since. I never thought it got the just due critical acclaim it deserved. Salute to you for covering it and giving it, it’s flowers 💐💐💐💕🙏🏾. Thank you and I subscribed. Keep up the great coverage.
