Yes, he’s on guitar. He recorded his first album at 16. I saw him back in 2000 at the Alabama Theater in Birmingham AL. Beth Hart actually opened for him! Needless to say it was a great concert 🔥🔥🔥

Actually he recorded his first stuff at 14. He was known as Kid Lang then. I have a cassette of him back then. The sound quality isn't that good, but it's still cool.

Originally, when he started performing in his early teens, he was called Kid Jonny Lang. Was a blues/rock prodigy. To top it off, a really nice guy too.

I saw this guy when he was still called Kid Jonny Lang here in Mankato, MN in '97, the night after he opened for The Rolling Stones in Minneapois. Tremendous on the guitar. Checkout Kenny Wayne Shepherd- Deja Voodoo.

Congratulations on hitting 300K subscribers. Jonny saw a Blues band in Fargo when he was 12. Got a guitar from Pop and started getting lessons from the lead guitarist of the band they had seen. A year later he was out on the road during Summer tour with that same band and before the next Summer he was fronting that same band. Played with B.B. King and Buddy Guy and several other Blues bands and guitarists. Has played Eric Clapton's famous 'Crossroads Blues Festival' at least a few times. Has always had that great gritty blues voice, even at 12. I love his music.

Try “Lie To Me”. It’s a great Johnny Lang song from about 25 years ago. He was a teenager when he sang that one. The official video of it is a good one. He’s now somewhere in his early to mid 40’s. 😉

Saw this kid back when he was 16ish, opened for Blues Traveler, blew me away! I love watching peoples reactions to singers that I think have the real heart and soul. This kid was blues true and true, almost the next Stevie Ray Vaughn and had heavy blues influences growing up. Kind of like hearing Disturbeds version of Sound of Silence!

Yes, saw him at 16 at a blues festival in California. Another young star at that time was a 14-year old named Corby Yates. Amazing guitarist both of them. Sadly, Corby has passed away.

Jonny actually recorded his first album when he was barely a teen. "Lie to Me" was his second album. He recorded it when he was fifteen. It was released right after he turned sixteen. That 'voice' started to give out on him several years ago. He hasn't played for a while now. There have been no updates on his website in a couple of years in regards to his recuperation.

Does anyone know m ow how he's found now? He must be around 40 yrs now? I know his vocal cords were seriously ill.. concerts canceled for a couple years, but I can't find out what is going on with him. I heard he lived a wild life.. way too young.. but that he recovered?? But I pray for him.
