This is "La Cigara", not "La Charreada", which you can react to at this link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iF7OZZh7iNmEl5I La cigara is Spanish for the cicada. La charreada is Spanish for the rodeo. If this song wowed you, "La Charreada" will floor you! BTW: You've only heard three of about six totally different kinds of singing you'll hear from Linda Ronstadt. She's incomparably versatile! Check out "Different Drum" and "Skylark" for two more totally different *kinds* of singing, totally different genres of music.

Linda has been a huge star for decades :) Her health no longer allows her to perform, but thanks to videos like this her voice can continue to amaze :) If you're not aware...the band the Eagles were originally her back up band :)

Linda earned a Grammy for her album "Canciones de Mi' Padre", which this is from. It was her 3rd different genre, she has Grammys in 5 different genre's, which is a feat no other artist can come close. Canciones was recorded in 1987 and is still today the largest selling non English album in American Recording history.

This woman’s voice is totally amazing. Even though I have been listening to her for over 50 years, I am still dazzled by her pipes. She is my favorite female vocalist of all time. Thanks for continuing to explore her music. 🌺✌️

Linda Ronstadt is one of the best female singers & can sing any genre from ballads to country to rock & even opera. She has Mexican heritage on her dad's side. Growing up she listened to many types of music, including Mexican music, which was sung by her entire family. She does a great job singing in Spanish. I have the album "Canciones de Mi Padre (Spanish for "Songs of My Father"). Sadly she now has progressive supranuclear palsy & can no longer sing a note.

That guy behind her is one of the basses. She was warned not to do her Spanish album, that it would ruin her career. She did it anyway-- Canciones de mi padre (It's tribute to her Dad.) It immediately flew up the charts. Went double platinum. At 2.5 million sales in the US alone, it continues to be the largest selling non-English language album in American recording history. Go Linda!!! ❤ (some info from Wiki)

She did so many great songs, and great duets. "I Don't Know Much," with Aaron Neville is excellent. Her voice is amazing. "Somewhere Out There" with James Ingram is another great duet.

Linda released the album Canciones de Mi Padre (Songs of my Father) in 1987 to honor her Mexican heritage. The album immediately became a global smash hit. At 2½ million US sales, it stands as the biggest selling non-English language album in American record history. Linda is unparalleled, she sampled many music genres and was a smashing success in all of them.
@bryanCJC2105 Жыл бұрын
Linda Ronstadt grew up listening to her family's music from her Mexican heritage. This singing style is a traditional singing style of Mexican Rancheras and Mariachi music. From her earliest Rock & Roll days, she always stated that she grew up singing Mexican music and was influenced by some of the mega-artists of Mexico like Lola Beltran. Linda Ronstadt is retired from music and, sadly, has a disease that took her singing voice away. Her Spanish albums are among the highest selling Spanish language albums of all time in the US and in Latin America.

Shon another 🔥 song from Linda. On another post, not with you, the topic was Karen Carpenter and her greatness, which I think she was. I commented you’d have to include Linda Ronstadt in that list of GOAT. I got shot down by an (I won’t use the bad word here). I let it go as they simply have no idea. You just heard why Linda is in that class. One of my faves is the song Alison. Not as dramatic but beautiful nonetheless. I don’t think there’s a video, maybe 🤷🏻♂️, just a single picture of her tying her skate laces. Yeah ❤️. Great reaction! Keep going.
