I was listening to it live on BBC radio 1! WOW radio 1 were sooo not ready for her that night! "F**k is a good word" !!! ❤️❤️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈 3 sold out shows at Wembley Stadium playing to 80,000 people each night. I wish that there was a pro recording of one of the Wembley shows. Even the dancers have spoken about how epic those shows were. Carlton said that he remembers that the choreography meant the dancers started with there heads down looking at the floor but, he could hear such a massive roar from the crowd and he had seen the stadium empty he just had to lift his head a little and have a peak! Because the show started in the daylight he said all he could see were people going so far back he couldn't make them out and then he saw thousands of people going up the sides of the stadium. He was so sure he was going to forget his dance moves! Hahaha 😂😂❤️❤️

I thought only people who could receive BBC radio 1 were able to listen. 1990 was also quite a long time from everyone having home computers and certainly smart phones. How did you manage to listen, I'm really interested in case they broadcast one of the Celebration Tour shows !!! I saw this tour in Anaheim, CA on July 18, 1987 when I was 16. It was a sold out stadium of over 62,000 people! The young dancer is Chris Finch. He was 13 and he was in his hometown of Anaheim. My first big concert. My ticket was only $25! My Celebration Tour ticket was over $600!

@@jasonstrader3942 Hi, the kid in the OYH video was Felix Howard. He was a child/teen model who made the big time and regularly featured in trendy mags like The Face where he had his own editorials. He went on to present UK music programme The Tube with Jools Holland and Paula Yates for a while. Madonna invited him on the WTG tour but he couldn't fit it into his schedule because he was still a working fashion model. This is how Madonna originally saw and picked for the part in OYH, she saw a shoot he had done. Felix and Chris do really look a lot alike. This is perhaps why she picked him for the tour? ❤️❤️

During her early times up to the nineties she was being managed by the same manager with Michael Jackson. She’s the first female artist ever that can fill an open stadium multiple dates during every performance of her concert. Ones you got hooked on her you can never let go. Her stamina throughout her every performances proves how much dedication and professionalism she really is as an artist, as a musician and as a performer. She really is one of a kind, the one and only in a millennium or more… I got hooked on her since ’83 and I am still into her ’til now, even until my life passes by!!! ❤❤❤ My life changed through her music, my outlook and perseverance for she’s an inspiration to me for always!!! My favorite Madonna live performance of all time! I went to this concert in Seattle on July 15th come the 1987. My mom took me and I was just 14 years old and it was the greatest night of my life, to be with my mom and to see Madonna for the first time! It was always pandemonium in there for every song so this is pretty accurate. The young boy represents the open your heart video character who was played by a different actor and this is Chris Finch who portrayed him in the opening number and throughout the tour. It was a tour that was much more geared towards a younger audience so having a teenager dancing with Madonna was pretty cool. This whole tour is so important to me, I watch it every July 15th to commemorate that day.

I think it's important to note that this video of "Into The Groove" is 36 years old. Back then it was very innovative and one of the first tour to use background projections at certain titles. You could see artistic evolvement of Madonna by watching her chronically. Always great to watch "Dress you up" and "Gambler" from the Virgin Tour from her first tour - Gives you a hint what was to come. Virgin Tour (1985) - Who's That Girl Tour (1987) - Blond Ambition Tour (1990) - Girlie Show (1993) - Drowned World Tour (2001) - Re-Invention Tour (2004) - Confessions Tour (2005) - Sticky and Sweet Tour (2008) - MDNA Tour (2012) - Rebel Heart Tour (2015) - Madame X Tour (2019)

Glad you guys loved it! Back in 1987, the staging was considered to be innovative. Fast forward to 1990 (Blond Ambition) and she basically created the blueprint for the modern pop concert, outdoing herself again with The Girlie Show in 1993. She's always trying to outdo herself (and usually succeeds spectacularly). Be sure to check out "Like A Prayer" (Blond Ambition).

Your Madonna reactions are truly special and entertaining. It is so rewarding to see younger generations experience Madonna’s artistry and evolution. Taking the time to make and share your observations and your appreciation of her talent as a singer, songwriter, dancer and passionate entertainer. As you continue this journey you will begin to see the complexity, brilliance, her mastery of so many musical genres and extraordinary achievements. Like others have already commented, you can’t imagine what an international “Megastar” she truly was, and still is! There was world wide coverage of her and this was WAY before social media and the explosion of the internet and digital recording. The only way you could share any of her videos, appearances, interviews or live performances was to usually sit at home and carefully record them on your VCR if you were lucky enough to have one….lol. She was on the cover of every imaginable magazine, and covered by newspapers and entertainment shows in countries all around the world. I look forward to continuing this journey with you both!

Two of the backing singers (Nikki Harris and Donna DeLory) would go on to work with her regularly for the next 14-20 years (Nikki until 2001 and Donna until 2007). The young man is just part of the show. He is the same boy in her Who's That Girl music video. It was filmed when they were rehearsing the tour. Everything you see him do, is intentional. If you watch other performances of this song on the tour, he does exactly the same moves. He didn't mess up. He was told to "do his own thing" which is kinda part of the message of this song called "Into the Groove" where it's all about dancing to your own groove. As for the staging, that was pretty innovated at the time in the mid to late 80's. She is one of the few artists who started doing these elaborate stage sets and designs by 1990 with Blond Ambition Tour. No one was really doing that sort of thing until she started doing it. It was her FIRST world tour, so it was set up like a huge rock show. Her previous tour, The Virgin Tour didn't have an elabroate stage design either, and that's because it was unheard of at the time. That all came later, innovated by her with future tours. Other artists began to follow her with elaborate stage designs. It's safe to say her and U2 have been really responsible for starting the trend of huge stage designs by the early 90's.

Loved this loads. My favorite part of every reaction video of yours has to be Marissa's "Are you serious?!" reaction to Tyler pausing the video, though. 😂 As always I recommend "Like a Prayer" (Blond Ambition Tour), "Music Inferno" (Confessions Tour) and "Drowned World/Substitute for Love" (Confessions Tour).

Sometimes a dancer is just a dancer. He's young and he dances and Madonna chose him. Simply because he's good. No hidden meaning. Ur over thinking.

She chose him because she originally wanted child dancer Felix Howard, who she picked because of the OYH video. But he couldn’t do it so she recast with Chris finch.

The kid was in one of her videos. Open Your Heart. She brought him along on tour because she wanted to recreate the video on stage. She decided to use him for other numbers because why not. Good dancer and she's shlepping him around.

Hey guys That dancer was the kid in the Open Your Heart Video. She then invited him on tour. Go watch open your heart. You will see him looking up to her and it will explain a lot.

Check out Madonna’s Who’s That Girl official video and the Kid is in it as well. His name is Chris Finch and I believe he was about 14 years old back in this tour.

Never been a performer like her, i think the younger generation need to appreciate how much of a amazing performer Madonna was and still is, i love all the up and coming artists, but no one comes close to Madonna back in the day

And Madonna has the most number ones on any billboard chart, 50 number ones on the dance club play chart. Madonna is global. People like Mariah had success mainly in the USA. If you want to see her introduce the band, you can watch Causing a Commotion, from the Whose that Girl concert. First tour was the Like a Virgin Tour. As with the Blonde Ambition Tour there were voice problems. When you look at the first performances in Japan and compare to Italy, you notice that her voice was really in need of rest. It just really requires a lot of dancing and singing at the same time. The boy in the concert is the same boy as in the Open Your Heart video and plays a big role during the opening act of this concert. He represents innocence, open-mindedness and freedom.

Wow!!! Great choice my favourite from this tour!!! The energy and the start (amazing start) of the choreography Madonna ruled!! Afternoon watching your Like A Prayer from Blond Ambition you're right there's nobody even close to Madonna then not even Madonna now as sadly as a fan since the beginning I cannot watch her anymore but please keep up the live reactions especially Blond Ambition and Girlie Show... Everybody that closes The Girlie Show is great

ALSO - regarding "meaning" of the child dancer... Different song, but have you seen the Open your heart video with the little boy who goes to the peep show to see Madonna? And dances with her in the street in the end? I always felt like this was emulating that. It's just innocent fun.

Right… need to get some perspective here: Madonna’s first hit was in 1983/1984, since then she rose in fame, it was Christmas 1984 with Like A Virgin that superstardom commenced. (Think about it, a girl called Madonna, wearing a crucifix, singing about virginity…at Christmas.) Through 1985 her fame increased, she embarked on The Virgin Tour in 85, which was a highly choreographed and stunning tour, in 1986, True Blue album was issued which put Madonna on Michael Jackson level of fame and musical output. Her effect on the music industry should not be underestimated. Before Madonna, you had huge album sellers like Barbra Streisand and maybe Olivia Newton John (among others.) but Madonna was also a huge singles seller too. Her Who’s That Girl tour was highly theatrical and had a story arc through it and rivalled huge tours of Michael Jackson and Prince. Her show did take elements of her music videos and recreated them live, she also had the conveyor belt, and screens and loads of effects. The thing about Madonna in 87 is that the tour didn’t swallow her up, later productions are so huge and mind blowing that at times she is lost within it all. This was Madonna’s show in Italy where her family are from, she had a god like status there (not that she didn’t have it in other places, her debut show in Britain made the national news which was unheard of.) Blond Ambition tour in 1990 is technically more advanced than Whos That Girl, but Who’s That Girl has a charm about it which is lost in later productions as by then Madonna became a bit ‘harder’ less coquettish. Also, personally, Madonna’s interest in fire arms in later shows were lost on me, though I knew she was more vocal and political on modern culture.
