I remember watching this on HBO as a child, and just being in total wonder of what she was doing on the stage. I had never seen anything like it before, and in my humble opinion, itʻs Madonnaʻs greatest concert ever. I wish there was an HD version of this concert available for purchase on iTunes or something. This concert was The Standard, as someone mentioned previously. Madonna is a legend.

Speaking of 1990, you MUST absolutely review Madonna's 1990 VMA performance of Vogue. It's is the ULTIMATE performance. It's more than 30 years old, but if she performed it in the exact same way, same costume, same dance routine, it would still feel fresh, innovative and captivating. That's how iconic and timeless this performance is.

She is the Ultimate Performer along with her amazing back up singers and dancers. She is the QUEEN and no other performer comes close to her energy...her live vocals are so intense and unique. She doesn't run out of breath after dancing her but off, she goes straight to singing on beat!!!

One of my fav Madonna performances! Religion is featured prominently throughout her career. I tend to enjoy some of her more blasphemous performances. I highly recommend reviewing Live To Tell, Confessions tour, or Vogue/Holy Water from Rebel Heart Tour. Can you say EPIC?

Probably someone will know specifically, but LAP had a pretty big remix release album, and one of those mixes was used for this performance. It was recently re-released. Her brother did the artwork for the album cover... really great remixes.

This was the very first concert I went to by myself. Like al of her concerts since, Madonna tells a story and the elements and set designs are complimentary to each other. With her concerts there is a beginning, a middle and an end. Madonna has always used visuals to set the mood, and I have never seen another artist put as much thought into the sets as she does. I have been to every concert and am never disappointed.

I saw the Blonde Ambition tour live in Philadelphia. I also saw the recording of this concert in Paris. They were both Identical. She really did put out this much energy in every concert. This is why she's the queen.

Madonna always like to chance her own music on tours, she never does the same thing. Probably this one is the closest to the original cause it was the first tour after the music came out, but if you go and watch the music on another tour it will be almost another song!

This concert, in my opinion, was the real start of Madonna's career. Before that she had show elements, but this concert is more. It is divided into about four parts each with its own story, its own mood, it reflects a vision of life. It goes from relationships where equality is key, to self-discovery and faith experience, to challenging and flirting, to a bit of Dick Tracey (fits in less), to finally freedom, being who you are, celebration and who for you is your family. A wonderful concert. During this series of concerts Madonna had serious voice problems, was not allowed to speak for several days and I thought performances shifted. I don't remember the latter for sure. I saw the show, live, was great.

(I say 'lucky', because a handful of US dates were actually cancelled due to Madonna suffering from a vocal cord infection)... It was AMAZING show, and a truly incredible experience.

It was well documented Madonna had major vocal issues (constant throat/vocal cord infections) almost the entire tour it is amazing she squeezes out great performances. There’s a few songs on this tour in certain cities when she can barely get out a note yet she goes for it. So, don’t expect great vocals on this tour. She gives some, but many are rough.

Madonna was actually quite sick by the time this tour hit the USA. She apparently had a severe vocal cord infection, she had to put the tour on hold for a month under strict doctors orders… Hence why her vocals here do sound a bit strained (still sounds great though tbh) compared to the performances that were filmed in Japan at the start of the tour. You do notice if you watch them back to back that with the performance in Japan, she does also seem to have a bit more energy… But that said, even when unwell, she gives an absolutely amazing performance… 💚🇦🇺

There are two different versions of Like a Prayer, there is the original version from the Like a Prayer album, this version on the Blond Ambition Tour is from her greatest hits album "The Imaculate Collection"

U guys are actually watching an edited version of the original live performance . . . It was edited and (in my opinion) wrongfully cut to fit the time of the documentary. Madonna has indeed the GREATEST live shows. THIS is the point in history in which a concert becomes a spectacle, a theatrical show. And EVERYONE in the world was certainly force to acknowledge this amazing woman. My advice : Consider actual unedited versions , like the concerts in Nice or Barcelona . . . AMAZING! The energy, enthusiasm, and soul-involvement has no comparison; even with technical issues these are INCREDIBLE versions. Great video guys. Lovely review. Long Live the Queen ♥️

As other stated you have to watch the series sequence of Like a Virgin, Like a Prayer, Live to tell/Oh Father and Papa don't Preach to fully enjoy the trajectory that Madonna is show you visually... I am a huge fan of the Blonde Ambition Tour. To me there will never be anything else like it and even Madonna will never beat her Blonde Ambition Tour. On a Side note of Like a Prayer live.... This is my Absolute Favourite version of the song from the BAT... If you keep listening to various version of the song from various Blonde Ambition Tours... some are more light in the musical versions played by the musicians and some are more heavy in the musical version played by the musicians... if that makes sense. Some version have more bass or different bass sound and more persecutions, more choir in the background.... Listen to the Yokohama version that one is pretty good. The Nice version is also good. There is also a USA Concert where she bloopers the verses and mix them up( I want to say San Fransisco).
