Girl, you aint' seen anything yet. This is my favorite Nightwish song. Nothing is random in what you hear, everything is perfectly calculated and thought trough down to the last note of every musical organ you can and can't distinguish. Holopainen (the keyboardist ) is a musical genius, add the talent of the other members, and you get an unforgettable musical experience out of this world. The Dutch Goddess (Floor Jansen) is their 3rd singer, and in my opinion the most versatile and "right" for the band. I hope to see them just once in my lifetime. Floor is an angel. I call her the 6 foot 1, Dutch Goddess of all things vocal. 😊 Her versatility is absolutely impressive and range? She has hit a D6 which is much higher than this and actually held it for 8 seconds. She has also been heard sliding a note UP 3 octaves. The first song in question is her duet in "Phantom of the Opera" with Henk Poort in the Dutch TV show Beste Zangers in 2019. The second song in question is my recommendation for your next reaction... Welcome to the wonderful world of symphonic metal and in particular, Nightwish and Floor Jansen, shortly before she became an official member of the band. Yes, you read that right - she got the call at her sister's wedding in The Netherlands on Saturday 29th Sept 2012 after the band had an irreparable falling out with their previous female lead vocalist mid-tour, and 48 hours later, having learned the entire setlist, was making her debut with them in Seattle WA on 1st October. This song wasn't even in the setlist at the time, but within 10 days she had dug it out of their back catalogue, re-written the ending, and persuaded them to add it. The first time she sang it publicly was on 10th October in Austin TX. This is almost at the end of the tour on August 3rd 2013, with only two more festivals to go. Floor graduated from a 3-year degree at the Rock Academy in the Netherlands (which she attended while also singing for After Forever) before doing more studies in musical theatre and opera. After the breakup of After Forever, she formed her own band, ReVamp, but this (luckily for Nightwish) was on hiatus following her burnout about a year before her call from the band and although they had been writing and recording new material, they had no immediate contractual obligations, so she was free to answer the call. ReVamp's 2nd and final album, Wild Card, was released 20 days after this concert, and shortly afterwards, on 9th October, Floor was announced as Nightwish's permanent female lead vocalist. Apparently the offer had been extended and accepted in the hotel bar after the Sauna Open Air festival in Tampere Finland on June 8th but remained a band secret until after the tour, and I suspect, the fulfilment of a contractual commitment to the release of ReVamp's album. Her voice extends from alto up through the entire range of her natural soprano, and does so seamlessly, as her chest, middle and head ranges overlap so that she can transition between them where it suits the music instead of where she has to. This song barely scratches the surface of her vocal ability. Most people sing what they can - Floor sings whatever she wants to, and can sing anything except badly!

The 'Lucy Lawless/Xena" there is the Dutch Valkyrie Queen Floor Jansen, the best singer in the world. The "Wizard" is the bassist Marko Hietala, who is also a very good singer. The drummer is "the Pirate" Jukka Nevalainen and the guitarist is "the Hobbit" Emppu Vuorinen. The mastermind behind all of this greatness is the keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, whose "organ thing" there is only an impressive keyboard stand. Thank you and greetings from Finland!

Fun fact: Nightwish fire their second singer Anette in the middle of an ongoing world tour and have to give the next concert two days later. Floor got burned out during the South American tour of her band ReVamp and had to take a break. Nightwish called her if she could fill in in 48 hours. Had she asked a doctor, she should have refused. But Floor was and is one of the biggest Nightwish fans, already knew a few songs and couldn't say no. It quickly becomes clear that she is indispensable and after the tour is over she will also become an official member. She released another album with ReVamp, but instead of going on tour she disband the band.

I am English and from England and I know Medieval history, I also heard Medieval music and I can tell you that the start of Nightwish's Ghost Love Score is NOT medieval at all. Why Floor Jansen's voice sounds incredible live is because she is the greatest female singer on the planet FACT. Flood Jansen is married to Sabaton's drummer Hannes van Dahl, lucky geezer I and many male Nightwish/Sabaton fans love her and her Angelic voice. She is our dream girl. I am a Sabaton Fan but I have to admit that Nightwish is my second favourite band. Floor Jansen has been back up vocals for a couple of Sabaton songs including the latest one, which is the true story of the Christmas Truce which happened on Christmas day 1914 ( for Americans it is WW1). When British soldiers including our own Hertfordshire Regiment and the German soldiers, walked onto No Man's land to talk, smoke, exchange gifts, drink and play Football ( proper football not the game you play that has nothing to do with playing the game with only feet).
