These guys have been around for like 30-40 years, and never made it big. They lived in cheap one room apartments for most of their lives because that's all they could afford. When Japanese metal started being recognized because of BabyMetal, Band-Maid, and others, they started finally getting the recognition they deserve. I have so much respect for them. They could have given up so many times, but they held on to their dreams. And it's finally starting to pay off for them.

I’m a 54yr old metal head. Black Sabbath was the band that started me on my metal journey. This band IS THE Japanese Black Sabbath as far as I’m concerned. Absolutely amazing 🤟

These guys are true veterans of metal, they’ve been rocking out for around 30 years. Just love the way they pay no attention to conventional song writing, they can spend 2 minutes just on an intro to a song. They rock out the way it should be done 🤟🤟🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍
These guys have some really great songs!!! Try "Namahage" next.

Wow! So glad you found these guys. Pure gem. We cannot consider Japanese music without mentioning Ningen Isu, and cannot consider contemporary quality rock/metal without knowing them. Twenty-odd albums and over three decades in, shame the world outside Japan don't know them more. Saw these guys in 2012 in Tokyo, they are of course just immense live too! Exceptional characters also. Where else do you get a band with a late 19th century academic, a Yakuza wannabe and a Buddhist monk for members!?....oh, kudos for choosing the subtitles, their lyrics are always profound!

The same thing happened to me the first time I heard them, they have a presence, good lyrics, rhythm changes, guitar solos, excellent musicians, all of them... simply extraordinary!!!
I was wondering when you’d get round to these amazing musicians. They have been around for decades but never had major success! After 40 years, this song finally woke people up. It reminds me of old school, 70s bands like Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. Glad you enjoyed it so much. 👍 🤘🦊🤘

The best line I have seen about these guys is... "When you tell your Japanese father (the drummer) that he knows nothing about good music, so he and your grandfather (the guitarist) and the spirit of his father (the bassist) then sit you down and teach you the way of the samurai"
@NewAeonWarlord2 жыл бұрын
about damn time man! :) I love Shinji Wajima (the guitarist and vocalist here, he doesn't sing all their songs, others have the bassist on lead, a few even the drummer). That guy is so inspirational! Also they all just seem like great guys to hang out with. Kinda like that cool uncle, you know? :)
These guys have been around since the early 80s and originally underground punk .. gr8 stuff

Pronunciation: ning-gen (the g in gen is like in get) ee-soo (like saying the name of the letter E, soo sounds like soup without the p) It means "Human Chair". Japanese is pretty easy to pronounce (mostly, the R sound is an exception). All vowels have the same sounds everywhere.

Yup they're old, been at it 30 years, just got traction not that long ago. If they were British they could be Ozzy era Sabbath. And the backstory on their outfits and characters is pure 70s. But all their music is great. Great reaction too! By the way nice to see you can properly headbang now!
