Guitarist Shinji "Wazzy" Wajima is dressed as a Meiji era professor.(Late 1800's into the the early 1900's). Bassist Kenichi Suzuki is a death-touched Buddhist monk. Drummer Nobu Nakajima is dressed as a Yakuza. All three can and do sing lead as well, in fact Nobu has a really impressive set of pipes, although he sings lead pretty sparingly. Most of their songs are about traditional Japanese literature/legends, Buddhist philosophy, and classic horror like HP Lovecraft.

The traditional socks and sandals worn in the video are called tabi and zori, respectively. Zori are made from rice straw or wood and typically worn with kimonos for formal occasions. The tabi are specially made with the split between the big toe and the smaller toes so you can wear the sandal comfortably. Japanese footwear is extremely varied and honestly really cool. I highly recommend you research them if you're interested in acquiring some.

Ningen Isu has been a band for 30 years, over 20 albums: the trailblazers of Japanese Metal, their Black Sabbath/Led Zeppelin. Ningen Isu was known by few outside and even inside Japan but are on the road for 30 years, many albums. Baterist is sick, Vocalist/guitarist shereds the heck out of the guitar. They're legendary! PS: Ken-ichi Suzuki is the best bass player I ever heard. He uses distortions, runs and slides no one does or expects.

Via Wikipedia: In vocal jazz, scat singing is vocal improvisation with wordless vocables, nonsense syllables or without words at all. In scat singing, the singer improvises melodies and rhythms using the voice as an instrument rather than a speaking medium. The Shabadabadia is the "scat" part of Heartless Scat. The "Heartless" part I would assume, is simply the main lyrical body of the song and its meaning.

If you would listen to some more Ningen Isu songs you would quicky notice they dont play 1,2 or 3 genres like most of bands, but they do songs in around 10 or so genres of rock and metal, you have, Heavy Metal, Hard Rock, Progressive Rock, Stoner Rock, Doom Metal, Progressive Metal , Psychodelic Rock, Folk Metal and Gothic Rock, those are the most common genres you can hear on their albums. Also related to their clothing, the vocalist dress consists of motifs that where worn by literary masters of the Meiji Era, the basist is dressing up as a Buddhist Monk and the drummer dresses up as a japanese gangster which got him the nickname Aniki, which means big brother.

These guys have actually been around since the early 90's or late 80's I think and have done 100's of really great covers dressing up like hendrix with the afro and everything. They're great

I mean the only video that would be really problematic is Obscure. The videos for Vinushka and older songs are pretty tame in comparison.

english lyrics If you, Holy Angels, do exist in this universe, Will you bless me on the cheeks? With my painful effort never paid off. I've just been standing in the shadow, Will the day come someday when I can fly high in the sky? Will the day come when I can see the sun? Tell me, Holy Angels. Shabadabadia Shabadabadia Babababa Shabadabadia Shabadabadia Babababa If you, Divine Goddess, are staying hidden somewhere, Why don't you smile at me on my forehead? I've never tasted the nectar of victory. I’ve never succeeded in love. Will the day come when I can get intoxicated by the victory? Will the day come when I can embrace love? Tell me, Divine Goddess. Shabadabadia Shabadabadia Babababa Shabadabadia Shabadabadia Babababa Countless stars are twinkling in the sky. Every one of us is under them, with a thousand wishes in each heart. Lululu Lululu… If you, Lord Buddha, really exist in some place, Please have mercy on me, too. Having nothing precious in my possession, Desolated, Isolated, I've been living my life with a series of failures. Will the day come when I can totally be satisfied? Will the day come when my dreams come true? Tell me, Lord Buddha. Shabadabadia Shabadabadia Babababa Shabadabadia Shabadabadia Babababa Shine a light on my life Shine a light on my future Shine a light on every creature Shine a light on tomorrow for all
