Man..I was already a biggie fan before this song came out..but when this song dropped? It was solidified. I was born and raised in New York. Long Island to be exact. Biggie came out at a time when west coast hip hop owned the game. But when biggie and bad boy records hit the scene..the pendulum started to swing back east. Biggie was to the east coast what Dre and snoop was for the west coast. I saw the whole bad boy fam (including biggie) perform at the paramount in NYC in 1995 at the source awards. One year and 7 months later, biggie was gone. I’m not ashamed to say..I cried like a baby when I found out and for weeks afterwards when his last album came out. He didn’t live long enough to see his second album drop. It’s a damn shame. Rest in Paradise, Christopher.
