This great song was written by Willie Nelson. RIP Patsy. She had such a unique voice. Check out "Sweet Dreams".

The greatest female artist of her time. Another life cut short by a plane crash. A hauntingly deep, rich tone that one instantly recognizes.

I've read that she didn't like the song at first. But she was trying to sing it like the writer (Willie Nelson) sang it. The world is so glad that she kept trying till she found this rendition!

Patsy Cline has one of the best country voices around. Patsy had so many great hits such as "She's Got You", "When I Get Through With You", "Sweet Dreams", "So Wrong", "Leavin' on Your Mind", "Walkin' After Midnight", "I Fall To Pieces" "San Antonio Rose", "Blue Moon Of Kentucky", "Half As Much", "He Called Me Baby", "Faded Love", "Imagine That". She was only 31 when she died in a plane crash in 1963. In 1985 Jessica Lange starred in the movie about Patsy's life called "Sweet Dreams".

she was a country singer but she was the first to cross over to pop and adult contempary pretty much into every kind of music of the time

Nice reaction man. Yeah even in break up songs and ballads that share the human condition and negative emotions it still feels positive somehow. Perhaps because as you say i so relatable and humble, it isn't angry and telling the World they are owed something because they have been wronged. I agree completely, the World would be abetter place if we had positive music again, and better still the people making it did it for the love of it and had fun.

For some other female artist from around the same time period, you might try Feeling Good by Nina Simone or At Last by Etta James. They are very different artists from Patsy in many ways, but, like her, they have a way of grabbing your soul. I promise you won't be disappointed!

This is country music from 1961, but it also has a jazz nightclub singer vibe which was common in 1950’s pop music.

Greetings from across the pond Cree. You guys are the best. Keep up the reactions! That was country music. Real country music not today's fake country pop crap.
