@@MorenikejiTaiwo This story is true. She still had a few stiches on her forehead. She chose to wear the headband to hide the wound. A beautiful voice for the ages. This may have been a personal story for her, but the song was not. The song was written by the legendary Willie Nelson. But this story is probably true for most people that have lost a love they wanted to keep. As usual, a great reaction. Peace

Patsy was wearing that kind of weird white headband under her newly-styled "bangs" to try to hide the terrible scars from her recent, near-fatal car crash. I believe "Crazy" was the only song she ever had to record twice, because broken ribs prevented her from hitting some of the high notes. I was 5 years old when she was tragically killed in a private plane crash, March 5, 1963. Many years later, I had the sincere pleasure of knowing both her Mother, Hilda Hensley, and Patsy's 2nd husband, Charlie Dick. Hilda was a seamstress who made most of Patsy's stage outfits, including this blue lace overlay dress, which I literally had the good fortune to see and touch, in person. Both Hilda and Charlie have since "passed on", and I am sure they are happily with Patsy again...😇

Patsy felt every song she sang. She has a cry in her voice. Listen to "Sweet Dreams". Another song you must listen to is "Faded Love" Patsy was crying as she recorded this song. By the end of the song she was very emotional & living the song. There are no live recordings of this song that l know of, cause soon after this recording Patsy died in a plane crash. The music we could of had if this didn't happen. Such a short career. But Patsy is considered the greatest Country Singer of all time. Female singers are compared & strive to sing as good as Patsy Cline. There will never be another. Also Patsy & Loretta Lynn were best friends. Loretta has a hard time talking about Patsy & singing her songs. You can see the tears in Lorettas eyes as she does.

1961 radio hits are short songs 🙂. Just the way it is. Or was. Or something. Anyway in the USA it wasn't until late 60's FM "underground" and "free form" radio appeared that songs longer than about 4 minutes were heard on the air. Excepting Jazz stations and Classical music, of course.

You started me on a journey today. Thank you. This song reminded me of her song Back In Baby's Arms and when I searched for it to listen to it and the video that had the song was from a phenomenal sound track of a Good but very strong movie. That's when I remembered a song by Bob Dylan-- You Belong to Me, from that same movie soundtrack which then brought me to the memory of Leonard Cohen - Waiting for the Miracle. Then I wondered if "MO" had done any Bob Dylan reactions. Sadly no and yet happily no. Happy for you to still be able to hear many of Bob's songs for the first time. Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen are arguably two of the greatest poet-songwriters of the 20th century. Peace/JT
