This is from his first solo album in 1970 after The Beatles split up. He plays every instrument on this song and the entire album. Guitar's, bass, piano and organ and drums. He was an extremely gifted and versatile musician. Peace ❤

Any questions about Paul's evolving solo career were quickly put to rest by iconic songs like this. It was clear: Paul would be just fine after the break-up.

his new wife Linda at the time helped pull him out of dark depression, and out came this solo album just as the Beatles officially broke up. This song was all about Linda in 1970. Paul is playing all the instruments, doing all the voices...yes even drums. Is 14...the little girl is Heather, Linda's daughter from her first marriage, and the baby is Mary, their new daughter born in 1969. Really, I wonder if he ever would have recovered without Linda.

@@thomastimlin1724 And the post band dissonance and bad feeling all emanated from the John Yoko relationship but as you point out the Paul Linda thing was this big spiritual thing too though it did not receive media attention and was less disruptive to the band members

The 70's LIVE version of this song is even better. You should do a reaction to the Wings Over America LIVE version of this song. It is so much better than this recorded version. Much more exciting and energetic.

Everyone gets this suggestion wrong. His singing live with Wings was better. Including the non-album versions on KZbin.

An amazing reaction 🌋! After the Beatles. I see 👁👁 you have reacted to Paul McCartney before: Beatles - Ticket To Ride, Yesterday, I Want To Hold Your Hand, Eight Days A Week, All My Loving, Help!, I Feel Fine, Nowhere Man, I'm Down, Can't Buy Me Love, Twist And Shout, Oh! Darling, We Can Work It Out, Now And Then, Hey Jude, Here Comes The Sun, A Day In The Life, Rain and Come Together. Solo - Ebony & Ivory w/ Stevie Wonder, Coming Up, Say Say Say w/ Michael Jackson. Maybe I'm Amazed is a song recorded for Paul McCartney's 1970 debut solo album: McCartney. The song wasn't released as a single but still received major radio airplay. It was written and produced by Paul McCartney. The music video was directed by Charles Jenkins. Paul McCartney wrote this song about his wife Linda McCartney, who passed away from breast cancer in 1998. Paul McCartney never wavered in his love for Linda McCartney, and even made her part of his band so she could tour with him. The song was written in 1969 just after The Beatles broke up. Paul McCartney credits Linda McCartney with helping him get through that difficult time. The song was the standout track from Paul McCartney's first solo album. Unlike George Harrison, who had three discs worth great songs - mostly made up of songs rejected by The Beatles, for his first solo album effort, Paul McCartney had little in the way of leftover material to work with. He worked up the album in his kitchen, played all the instruments: guitars, bass, piano, organ, and drums, on the song. At 0:44 into the song: "you can hear the noise of the drumsticks hitting one another, a detail cleaned up in the 2011 Paul McCartney reissue". The only other artist on the album was his wife Linda McCartney, who lent backing vocals and took the album's cover photo. Actor Jamie Dornan, who plays Christian Grey in the franchise film: Fifty Shades (2015, 1017, 2018), recorded his take of the song for the movie soundtrack of the film: Fifty Shades Freed (2018). The film involves an impromptu piano and singing performance of the song: "Maybe I'm Amazed", from Christian Grey, which surprises his lover Anastasia, sister, Mia, and brother, Elliot in the movie scene. Although the original recording has never been released as an official single, a live performance by Paul McCartney's later band: Wings, from their 1976 live album: Wings Over America, was released in 1977. This song version became a Top-Ten hit in Canada (#9 AC) and the US (#10 Pop) and reached #28 in the UK. The song has been covered by other artists including 📻: Joe Cocker, Petula Clark, Gem, Sandie Shaw, Carleen Anderson, Billy Joel, Tom Scott, Lena Horne, Ruby Starr, Lydia Gray, Mary Ann Redmond, Elkie Brooks, John Pizzarelli, Spearfish, AJ Croce, Bunky Moon, Zach Hench, Faces, Gov't Mule, Billy Porter, Joseph Williams, Bettye LaVette, Sunday's Child, The Tribe, Black Oak Arkansas and more. Legacy 🛡: In 2011, Rolling Stone magazine ranked the song at #347 on its "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" list. Critical Reception 🗣: Langdon Winner of Rolling Stone described the song as "a very powerful song", that states "one of the main sub-themes of the record, that the terrible burden of loneliness can be dispelled by love". Langdon Winner continued to describe the track as "the only song on the album that even comes close to McCartney's best efforts of the past. It succeeds marvelously". In a retrospective review for Paul McCartney, Record Collector has highlighted the song along with "Every Night" and "Junk", as songs that "still sound absolutely effortless and demonstrate the man's natural genius with a melody". Joe Tangari of Pitchfork similarly evaluated "Maybe I'm Amazed", along with "Junk" and "Singalong Junk", as the "peaks" of Paul McCartney. While Paul McCartney's former Beatles' bandmate George Harrison admitted that he didn't care for the album, he conceded in an interview that he thought the song: "Maybe I'm Amazed", was "great". Song Credits 📝: Linda McCartney - backing vocals Paul McCartney - lead and backing vocals, lead and rhythm guitars, bass, piano, organ, drums Lyrics 🗒: Maybe I'm amazed at the way you love me all the time Maybe I'm afraid of the way I love you Maybe I'm amazed at the the way you pulled me out of time You hung me on a line Maybe I'm amazed at the way I really need you Maybe I'm a man, maybe I'm a lonely man Who's in the middle of something That he doesn't really understand Maybe I'm a man and maybe you're the only woman Who could ever help me Baby, won't you help me to understand? Ooh Maybe I'm a man, maybe I'm a lonely man Who's in the middle of something That he doesn't really understand Maybe I'm a man and maybe you're the only woman Who could ever help me Baby, won't you help me to understand? Ooh-ooh-ooh, ah Maybe I'm amazed at the way you're with me all the time Maybe I'm afraid of the way I leave you Maybe I'm amazed at the way you help me sing my song Right me when I'm wrong Maybe I'm amazed at the way I really need you Oh, oh, oh Hey-ey-hey Oh, oh, oh, ooh-ooh-ooh Yeah, yeah, yeah Ooh Paul McCartney Info 📰: Sir James Paul McCartney was born on June 18, 1942 in Liverpool, England. He is a singer, songwriter and musician who gained worldwide fame with The Beatles, for whom he played bass guitar and shared primary songwriting and lead vocal duties with John Lennon. One of the most successful composers and performers of all time, Paul McCartney is known for his melodic approach to bass guitar-playing, versatile and wide tenor vocal range, and musical eclecticism, exploring genres ranging from pre-Rock and Roll Pop to Classical, Ballads and Electronica. His songwriting partnership with John Lennon remains the most successful in music industry history. Paul McCartney attended Stockton Wood Road Primary School in Speke from 1947 until 1949, when he transferred to Joseph Williams Junior School in Belle Vale because of overcrowding at Stockton. In 1953, he was one of only three students out of 90 to pass the 11-Plus exam, meaning he could attend the Liverpool Institute, a grammar school rather than a secondary modern school. In 1954, he met schoolmate, and future bandmate in The Beatles, George Harrison on the bus from his suburban home in Speke. The two quickly became friends; Paul McCartney later admitted: "I tended to talk down to him because he was a year younger". Paul McCartney taught himself to play the piano, guitar and songwriting as a teenager, having been influenced by his father, a Jazz player, and Rock and Roll performers including: Little Richard, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly. He began his career when he joined John Lennon's skiffle group, The Quarrymen, in 1957, which evolved into The Beatles in 1960. Sometimes called "The Cute Beatle", Paul McCartney later involved himself with the London avant-garde and spearheaded the incorporation of experimental aesthetics into The Beatles' studio productions. Starting with the 1967 album: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, he gradually became the band's de facto leader, providing the creative impetus for most of their music and film projects. Many of his Beatles songs, including: "And I Love Her", "Yesterday", "Eleanor Rigby" and "Blackbird", rank among the most covered songs in history. While primarily a guitar bassist with The Beatles, in various songs he played a number of other instruments, including keyboards, guitars, and drums. After The Beatles disbanded, he debuted as a solo artist with the 1970 album: McCartney, and formed the band: Wings, with his first wife, Linda McCartney and Denny Laine. Led by Paul McCartney, the group Wings was one of the most successful bands of the 1970s, and he wrote or co-wrote their US or UK number-one hits: "My Love", "Band On The Run", "Listen To What The Man Said", "Silly Love Songs" and "Mull Of Kintyre". He resumed his solo career in 1980 and has toured as a solo artist since 1989. Without Wings, his UK or US number-one hits have included the songs: "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey", "Coming Up", "Pipes Of Peace", "Ebony And Ivory" w/ Stevie Wonder, "The Girl Is Mine" w/ Michael Jackson and "Say Say Say" w/ Michael Jackson. Beyond music, he has taken part in projects to promote international charities related to such subjects as animal rights, seal hunting, land mines, vegetarianism, poverty and music education. In December 2020, the release of his album: McCartney III, and its subsequent charting at number 2 on the US Billboard 200 earned Paul McCartney the feat of being the first artist to have a new album in the top two chart positions in each of the last six decades. Paul McCartney has written or co-written a record 32 songs that have topped the Billboard Hot 100 and, as of 2009, had sales of 25.5 million RIAA-certified units in the US. His honors include two inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (as a member of The Beatles in 1988 and as a solo artist in 1999), an Academy Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, 18 Grammy Awards, an appointment as a Member of the Order of the British Empire in 1965 and a knighthood in 1997 for services to music. As of 2020, he is one of the wealthiest musicians in the world, with an estimated fortune of £800 million. Paul McCartney still performs his music live on stage in 2024. ***CONTINUE BELOW***
