Freddie was eating lunch & heard Ice Ice Baby on the radio then realized it wasn’t Under Pressure. WTF?? Freddie contacted the Queen powers that be & Vanilla was sued for stealing the bass line. V.I. ultimately had to pay Queen & David Bowie a chunk of money & then he had to put writing credits for Queen & Bowie with the song! Ha Ha Ha!

Queen is a British rock group formed in 1971 consisting of: Freddie Mercury - Lead vocalist and piano Brian May - Lead guitar and vocals Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocals John Deacon - Bass guitar Queen produce 15 studio albums, had numerous gold and platinum single hits, and toured the world performing in front of audiences as large as 250,000 for 20 years until the death of Freddie Mercury in 1991. Not only were all 4 members of the group extremely talented musicians, but each member of the group also were talented composers. Queen is the only group in which each member wrote a number 1 hit. "Under Pressure" was a song that came out of a jam session with David Bowie at Queen's recording studio in Montreux, Switzerland. David had a house close to the studio and came by for a visit. After some pizza and beer, the member of Queen along with David went back to the studio and decided to see what happen. The studio recording of Under Pressure have both Freddie and David singing on it but, sadly, they never performed the song live together. (FYI - the bass riff might seem familiar to you because Vanilla Ice stole it for the song "Ice Ice Baby". Vanilla Ice was forced to pay Queen and David Bowie a lot of money and agreed to credit them as writers of Ice Ice Baby.) Queen was one of the most influential music groups in the 20th century. Their music is everywhere. I suspect that you've heard some of their music but did not know that it was Queen such as, "Another One Bites The Dust", "We Will Rock You", "We Are The Champions", and "Bohemian Rhapsody". Queen was innovative and creative. Their catalog of music was diverse including rock, rockabilly, ballads, soul, thrash metal, gospel, opera, classic rock, progressive rock, folk, jazz, disco, and more. Freddie Mercury is considered by most to be the best frontman ever (his control of the audience is amazing) and his vocal range is unsurpassed (he had a nearly 4-octave range and could sing anything). Queen's 20+ minute performance at the Live Aid concert in 1981 is considered the best live performance of a musical group ever (yes, there is a video of it on youtube.) Welcome to the world of Queen!

I was under the impression when you reacted to the Pentatonix version of Bohemian Rhapsody that you were familiar with Queen...that was originally a Queen song. Queen is one of the most legendary rock and roll bands of all time, true giants of the industry. Freddie Mercury was one of the most iconic rock stars of all time. Wembley IS a football stadium in England, one of the most famous in the world. The original of THIS song was a collaboration between Queen and David Bowie. Freddie and David had been friends for a long time and had been wanting to do a project together. Sadly, it was their only collaboration and both of them are now gone. Now you're gonna have to check out their original version of Bohemian Rhapsody. It will give you a better understanding of some of the imagery of the Pentatonix video. Also, Queen's performance at the 1985 Live Aid music festival (which took place at this same stadium) is now considered by many to be the greatest live performance by any band EVER. It's a little over 20 minutes long, but WELL WORTH reacting to. Freddie completely OWNED the crowd that night!

they saved Live Aid. It wasn't the "English" charts, it was the "British" or "UK" charts. England is only one quarter of the UK and one third of Great Britain. Please don't confuse one with the other, the rest of us feel so left out. It's like you lot in the US - the United States. A number of states united under one government. Same here, United Kingdom, four kingdoms united under one government. England is just a part of the whole picture. Calling all British people or the whole UK just "England" is as mad as us calling the US "Ohio".

Yes, Vanilla Ice STOLE the riff, got sued, & pretty much lost his shirt as a result. Queen is one of the best selling bands in rock history! All four members - Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, & John Deacon are in the Song Writer’s Hall of Fame & Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. They have a Star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Received the Brit Award for Achievement in Music. All band members have written #1 hits which no other band has done! Their epic song Bohemian Rhapsody was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. They are the first British band to have a song reach Diamond sales status for Bohemian Rhapsody which means it’s the most streamed song of the 20th Century & first pre1990 song to reach over a billion views on KZbin. I legitimately don't think I've ever known an adult person who didn't know who Queen was. If I had to guess the most well-known musical groups in the world, I would guess Queen was one of the top 3. In all seriousness, definitely look into more of their music, whether you react to it or not. They are legendary for a reason. You've almost certainly heard more of their music than you realize, if only just because they are on the radio so much. You've already reacted to PTX covering Bohemian Rhapsody and Home Free used Fat Bottomed Girls in their Butts Remix, plus I have to assume you're familiar with We Will Rock You, just because you are a person in America who has presumably been to some kind of sports game at some point. The KZbin channel Biographics has a really good video about Freddie Mercury if you're interested. Not for a reaction - unless you want to! - but just because it's a well-written video about a fascinating person. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4PVYXmnpJaUkLc

They were at Wembley Stadium in the UK, one of their 2 most iconic performances, the first being at Wembley for Live Aid in 85. The bass riff here was sampled by Vanilla Ice in the 90s. Every man in Queen was a genius musician - guitarist Brian May, bassist John Deacon (who wrote this song) and drummer extraordinaire Roger Taylor. Originally released on Vanilla Ice's debut album Hooked (1989) and later for the album To the Extreme (1990), it is her best-known song. Ice Ice Baby is the first hip-hop single to reach # 1 on the US charts and is also an international hit. The song has thus represented through hip-hop towards the general public.👍

You might want to check out Queen's performance at Live Aid 1985. Also the video of the song Freddie wrote, Barcelona for the Olympics in Spain performing with Monserrat Cabelle. He is one of the most talented and versatile singers and performers ever. ✨

I can't be the only person howling with laughter when my man said "I feel like I know this song - not all of it, but some part of it." I cannot figure out how I missed this channel in the past. The man is so jovial and fun, and go posters on his wall of two very special things to me - grew up a Rams fan, and I'm over the past six months a huge HOG fan. And he now enjoys Queen. This is amazing. I'm here for it. Thumbs up and a new subscriber from me!!!

The lead singer, Freddy Mercury of the group Queen was famous for having audience participation. They had hit after hit. The entire group wrote songs. Freddy was a singer, song writer pianist and composer. If you haven't seen the movie on the group's story and rise to fame, I recommend it.

The group is called Queen, he is Freddie Mercury, they were a force to be reckoned with, the likes for us we will never see again. We all died a little when we he died, the band carried on, with Adam Lambert doing a tour in honour of our beloved Freddie, but no one will ever come close. He was a once in a life time occurrence. RIP Freddie, the Legend. Xxx

For contrast look up when Freddie (the head singer) paired up with an opera singer for Barcelona. The man has range. Also as a life long Queen fan it's great seeing new people coming across them and enjoying them for the first time.

I absolutely love when people with a hip hop background get into rock/metal. I love seeing the smiles on their faces as they discover a new sound. Stick with it my friend, music is infinite. His name is Freddie Mercury, the band is named Queen. Freddie had a full 4 octave vocal range, he could easily keep up with Opera singers. One of Wembley Stadium's nicknames is "the house that Mercury built" Queen sold out every single time. Back in the 80's-90's arena rock was a thing, giant sports stadiums hosted concerts we're talking 100,000 ish people. Arena rock has died out though, you don't see crowds like this anymore.

The guitar Brian May is playing is one he built himself as a teenager. He still plays it to this day. All of the members are also college graduates with various degrees. Freddie has a degree in art and designed the Queen logo which used all four members zodiac signs. Brian May has a astrophysics degree and a PHd. John Deacon has an electrical engineering degree and Roger Taylor has a biology degree although he went to college to study dentistry.

The band is named Quenn and Freddie Mercury is the lead singer with a 4 octave range. They are all well educated, Bryan May, guitar, has a doctorate in ASTRO physics and has worked with NASA. He looks like he has buck teeth when in reality head had 4 extra teeth and refused to have them pulled because he was afraid it would effect his voice. Also Freddie is the ultimate showman. They were at Wembley stadium that seats over 100,000.

Some other Queen songs to react to: Save me (live version), Love of My Life (live version), In My Defense, Spread Your Wings, Show Must Go On (and read the story behind that one) and, These Are The Days of Our Lives. Oh, and be sure to check out the song Time which, was just released about 3 or 4 years ago! It was in storage for all these years and they finally found it and released it. Freddie was THE G.O.A.T. We miss you Freddie! R.I.P!
