When Chester passed, there was a memorial concert for him at the Hollywood Bowl with special guests along with the Linkin Park band. The band played this song and only had a microphone stand bathed in the spotlight draped with (I think) a lei on stage. The entire crowd sang the whole song. It will give you chills and still brings me to tears.

if you like this, you should check out the whole EP they did with Jay-z called "Collision Course". all the songs on it are bangers imo. basically, anything from the "Hybrid Theory" and "Meteora" albums are quality from Linkin Park and deserve a reaction. when we lost Chester, we lost a true musical talent for sure 😢❤️

The way that Chester passed is why we all still celebrate and honor his memory to the point that even today we will right "RIP Chester Bennington" in video comment sections. He had a party at his house with all of his friends and family and once it ended, he went inside and hung himself because he was struggling with severe depression. His voice and songs continue to help us and remind us to keep fighting.

Chester Bennington was a tortured soul for a long time, he had a lot of personal demons that he fought against for years and years. His major outlet for his feelings was his music. All that hurt eventually built up and when a good friend of his Chris Cornell, took his own life that was one of the final nails for him. In a matter of months after Chris passed away, Chester too was gone. Between those two events Linkin Park did a number of shows and live events where you can tell that Chester is more emotional wearing his heart on his sleeve, including one specific appearance when he briefly broke down while performing their song "One More Light". It was his farewell tour and no one even knew. Some time later Mike Shinoda the second major vocalist and main rapper of Linkin Park released a solo album called Post Traumatic, where he covers some of the major hurdles and emotions that he went through in the wake of Chester's passing, and the feelings of moving on. In particular the song "Over Again" is a real deep emotional gut punch directly referencing the scattered emotional state he and the rest of the band were in once the news broke. It's said by many that Chester "sang like an angel, and screamed like a demon", there will never be another quite like him R.I.P

LInkin Park's official genre was called 'Nu Metal', a mesh and rather experimental style of hip-hop and rnb blended with alternative heavy metal. The style gained alot of momentum and popularity between the mid 90's to late 2000's. Linkin Park were not the creators of the genre, but they sure as hell revolutionized it and made it their own.

I love the amount of respect that goes both ways between the rock and hip hop fans. It gives me hope for the future that we can all appreciate each other, no matter our differences. I respect you for watching these videos and giving your honest opinions. It puts a smile on my face and it warms my heart. I have faith that we can close the gap a little bit by coming together and bonding over music and other things that bring us together, instead of pushing us apart. Well done. I’m a fan of yours now.

Chester didn't just pass he committed suicide by hanging himself. He left his beautiful family on vacation then flew home and killed himself. Fighting addiction and depression had finally taken its toll. When I heard the news I was shocked and fell into a deep sadness. I suffer from depression myself and know the fight to stay alive all too well. My heart broke for Chester and his family and friends who loved him so much. The next time you hear Chester sing, the words will have deeper meaning for you and you'll be able to hear the undercurrent of pain and sadness in his voice. I hope you have found the peace you so dearly wanted, Chester 💔
