Bobby passed away in 2003. His grave marker says "If you believe in forever then life is just a one night stand." Bill is still performing with a new partner, Bucky Heard. When they do this song they end it with "If there's a rock and roll heaven then Bobby's got a hell of a band." You should check out Bobby's live solo of Summertime. Both guys and girl group the Blossoms do a great live version of The Night Time is the Right Time.

That's so deep, If we can believe that everything is forever, then the short life we all lead here on Earth is just a one night stand! I like that idea, as I'm getting close to the exit door now, hope I meet Bobby and Bill performing in that band in the afterlife.

The Righteous Brothers got their name from a group of Marine's stationed in California. After a set they would call out that's righteous brothers. Righteous because their performance was special and their voices unique; and brothers because they had soul. They became the first blue eyed soul sound. Rock and roll heaven was their tribute song to all the groups that went to heaven too soon. Bill and Bobby, what a perfect group. I cannot get enough of their efforts. God bless you all.

This was when they got back together again after each going solo, and what a reunion!!!!! They were each good on their own but pure magic together. Gotta love this music. Hey, I'll bet you'd love this song. "Stay With Me" by Bobby Hatfield. Bill and Bob would sometimes go their separate ways into solo careers. This was a song Bobby recorded in 1972, if I recall. I don't believe it was ever released as a single, and when I heard it, the song blew my mind. Amazing. I just know you'll love it!

Great reactions to this once in a lifetime duo. Check out "Brown Eyed Woman" sung by Bill with The Blossoms doing backup from the Playboy After Dark TV show. "Ebb Tide", "Somewhere" & "Let It Be" by Bobby (no videos). Both of them on the Ed Sullivan Show singing "You'll Never Walk Alone". There's so many great songs by the Righteous Brothers & their solos too.

The full line is "If you believe in forever, then life is just a one night stand". VERY philosophical lyrics. They also did a "part 2" to this song a few years later that updated the song with some of the artists who had passed in the following years (including Elvis). Currently, Bill performs a live version of this song that also adds Bobby to the list. He sings "If there's a rock and roll Heaven, then Bobby's got one helluva band". This is probably my favorite Righteous Brothers song.

Bill Medley recorded "Brown Eyed Woman" in 1968, just a few short months after the Supreme Court issued their landmark ruling in the Loving v. Virginia case that made interracial marriage legal in this country. The song is pretty self-explanatory when heard in that context. Bobby Hatfield recorded another solo that was a huge hit called "Ebb Tide." There is no live performance of him singing it on KZbin (don't be fooled by the one by a guy who looks and sounds a lot like Bobby; it ain't him). But there are plenty of videos of the single. Though it was never released as a single, Bobby's solo rendition of the classic "Summertime," which was on one of their albums, is also quite tasty. All of these can be found on KZbin.

Now this was made in 73 I think so. They were showing a few of the greats that had passed young and are up there jammin in heaven, because heaven has one hell of a band now imagine all those that entered rock ‘n’ roll Heaven since then you got Stevie Ray Vaughan up there jamming with his idol Jimi Hendrix so many great singers, whether we lost them young or they lived full lives but we know Bobby Hatfield is up there singing right along with them all!

Bill Medley (the blonde one) was a good friend with Elvis. After Elvis died he wrote a beautiful tribute to Elvis. A song called My Friend. He said he felt guilty because he didn’t realize how lonely Elvis was and he felt if he had been there for him even more perhaps he’d be alive. He’s a nice man. The other dark haired guy died young also from accidental drug overdose.

That's the difference, my friends, from shooting craps (where even your cigs are free) and the vast majority who were waiting in line that played the slots. We didn't even buy tickets.
