A couple quick thoughts: I saw them here in Vegas in September, and there were a few kids in attendance, including my own 12-year-old son. The youngest, though, was a kid there on his 6th birthday, who watched the show from his parents’s shoulders, right up close to the stage (with hearing protection, of course). Towards the end of the show, Joachim quieted us all down and talked to the kid for a bit, then gave him his sunglasses as a birthday present. You will be hard pressed to find a more wholesome welcoming musical fandom anywhere. Second, Sabaton is USUALLY very neutral in their presentation of stories, as regards the sides in a conflict. Not always though. The songs Rise of Evil and The Final Solution are both pretty clear on who the bad guys were.
@GOTGames2 жыл бұрын
Oh I'd love to hear those as well just to see a different side to their story telling. And that is such a wholesome and kind story! Love that!
@pandathecrusader56582 жыл бұрын
yeah they really only take sides if there's a very clear "bad guy" or if it's for story telling purposes, the rest of the time their incredibly neutral.
@EskChan192 жыл бұрын
@@pandathecrusader5658 Yeah and I think that's really cool because it's hard to forget that at the end of the day, every soldier is just a human person fighting for what they believe is right. Even if they were deceived into fighting for the wrong cause or even if they actually believed in something evil, it still takes a hero to die for what they believe.

They’re also great at putting you in the position and perspective of certain people(s). Like how the in 1648, the english version tells the us about the desperate defence as the Czechs fight to save their home while the Swedish version tells us the about the brutality of the Swedish army as they sacked the city. It hits even harder knowing that Joakim himself is half Swedish and Czech.

What the Germans saw near Osowiec would make even the present soldiers panic. The Germans used one of the most nasty combat gases against people who had virtually no gas masks. They expected everyone to be dead. Instead, they saw all possible nightmares. People barely walking or crawling. Bleeding from every possible opening. Spitting blood and lungs. With skin burned. 60 Russian soldiers led to the panic escape of over 2,000 German soldiers.

I'm Brazilian and I'm very happy that Sabaton made a great tribute to my country, a song that tells a story that many Brazilians don't even know, or just don't care, but they cared enough to make a great song. The song is called: Smoking Snakes.

@Avetho Жыл бұрын
In the Battle of Osowiec Fortress its one of the events that really shows me the deep wells of determination and control over the human body that humans can have, these Russian men had such love for their motherland that despite literally coughing up and choking on bloody chunks of their own lungs and throats, they got up and started firing back screaming and wailing at the Germans and being so utterly terrifying that the Germans retreated. Defense of Moscow is also the other one that reminds me that patriotism is a good thing for a nation's citizens to have, thinking that when Moscow was under threat from the Nazis people were enlisting by the thousands and rushing down to Moscow and gearing up to join the fight and defend their motherland's capital, and in the process the casualties were huge. And you gotta admit, despite the millions of deaths caused by Stalin, he did not leave the capital during the entire Battle of Moscow, he stayed in the city as it was being hit by Luftwaffe and all that keeping up morale just by his troops knowing that he's there. But of course my favorite song from Sabaton, surpassing even Defense of Moscow and the sheer energy it gives me, would be _Christmas Truce_ just for its message. The soldiers themselves are not evil in wartime, they are just the people carrying out the orders of their superiors, and when Christmas came and the war was put on pause they realized their enemy was not some faceless evil, they were men (and some women I think with foremost among them being Milunka Savić the Lady of the Dark and most decorated female solider in history and a certified ultra badass, she would've served 2 years in WW1 by the time of the Christmas Truce of 1914) with families back home and friends and lives just like them. I listen to Christmas Truce every so often, and let myself be mellow and accept the message.

Your reaction is so great, about wanting to get into the great music, but the story overpowers emotions. The band, for this song, has fun on stage. The band says that heavy metal is supposed to be fun, so their concerts are fun. They don't play very heavy songs such as The Final Solution. As for the music helping, there is an educational researcher, Howard Gardner, who wrote about Multiple Intelligences, that it's easier for some people to learn when music, art, action are involved with lesson plans. That's why Sabaton is used so much in classrooms, often as an into to the topics. Looking forward to more of your Sabaton reactions:)

WWI tends to get overshadowed by WWII, and people tend to not realize just how horrifying it was. It was the war that changed warfare forever; the evolutionary growth pain that brought us out of marching on the battlefield and into modern warfare. Soldiers had enough to be terrified of; the development of the machine gun, poison gas, tanks, airplanes, long range artillery, flame throwers, all while wasting away in a freezing trench while being nibbled on by rats. Now imagine going through all that, thinking there is no way this war could get more horrifying, and then seeing 100 enemy soldiers coming at you; raspy screams of agony and fury escape from mouths that cough up mouthfuls of blood and bits of lung while their skin blisters and falls off due to so much exposure to chemical toxins.

this song and the song Father are directly tied to each other. it's because of his work that the Attack of the Deadmen occured. (this is legit true btw) after charging the fortress, the germans were countercharged by 100 half dead russians, literally coughing up their own lungs, bleeding from every concievable part of their body, eye's turned red from the chlorine gas, and yelling in fury in a hellish gutteral sound due to their destroyed vocal chords. they struck so much fear into the germans that all 7000 germans turned and fled without firing a single shot. it's impossible to kill whats already dead after all.

Great video, great music, astounding story. The idea that these people were attacked with chemical weapons. Then while feeling their lungs melting, they climb up from the floor to kill the ones who attacked them. To know that you will soon die, but still fight. What a sight it must have been to the ones who attacked that fort.

Лучшая реакция которую я видел. В Сабатонах есть такое, ты слышишь песню про народ и становишься этим народом.

Sabaton is great. And by the way, if you truly want to have feels, just listen to Christmas truce by them. One of the most hearbreaking stories of the war.

The Argentine audience is considered the best in the world by all the artists who have visited the country. A few days ago Coldplay made the stadium explode with a tribute to soda with two of their best songs. I recommend you to watch this video. I recommend you to watch this video "best crowd ever", which shows the opinion of the most famous singers in the world about the Argentinean public.

As always amazing video! Could I recommend you listen to “Molotov”? It’s a Mexican rock band that touches all types of interesting themes. From them I would highly recommend “Gimme the power” or “Frijolero”. If you decide to give them a listen I would also recommend having the translated lyrics since I feel they’re very important for the music

My believe is that people overall want to see reactors react with emption rather than with professionalism. But thats just my point of view. And yes. I'm one of those people 😎💯

I'd suggest Ghost Division, 40:1, or Great War. Really their entire playlist are absolutely amazing and watching people get introduced to it is so much fun.
