😮 it's definitely a crime, I give the Rock and roll Hall of Fame zero credibility, it's political, when they put Dolly Parton in there, we all know who needs to be in there, Ted Nugent 2, I renamed them the Rock and roll Hall of shame. Scorpions are in my Rock and roll Hall of Fame and that's all that matters😊

This is one of those songs where everyone did exactly what was needed. The bass particularly drives the parts between the vocals and he's tight with the drums. The guitar leads add flavor and variation. And the rhythm guitar is consistent while the singer tells the story.

I enjoyed reading these comments. I have to add "Born to Touch Your Feelings" (from Taken By Force) and "Lady Starlight" (from Animal Magnetism) to this list. They're some of my favorite songs. I really like the albums Taken By Force, which was the last of "the old Scorpions" (still featuring Uli Jon Roth) and Lovedrive, which was the first of "the new Scorpions". Someone mentioned "Big City Nights" but it's not a ballad. It's still a great song though. Well, if we're going to mention some songs that are not really ballads but are still songs with some more mellow moments in them... then I'd have to mention at least "You Give Me All I Need" from Blackout. There are quite a few others as well. As a side note, If some of you haven't heard the song "The Sails of Charon" you might want to check it out. There's also a very interesting guitar solo before the vocals start. Sometimes Uli Jon Roth played in a style that was later called neoclassical metal. Take care and I hope you're having a great day.

The first time I heard this, all the way back in 84, it branded my soul. The vocals, the bass and the scorching guitar will be as powerful in my 90th year as they were in my 24th. While the verbiage may not carry the perfect message, the emotion is perfectly understood. These guys have been rockin' for 57 years and their longevity says several things... they're good at what they do, they enjoy what they do and millions of people agree! Money is nice, but it can't buy longevity. Respect given. Respect earned. That's the formula for longevity.

Excellent choice!! The Scorpions have always been a favorite of mine, since the days of channel U-68 here in New York... Klaus Meine is a brilliant singer. Mathias Jabs killed it here on guitar. Rudy Schenker was the man on backup guitar from day one. Originally, his brother, the great Michael Schenker was a young kid on guitar in this group (I believe he was initially 16). He played with them, then left to play with his groups, UFO and eventually, Michael Schenker Group (or McCauley-Schenker Group). The Scorpions took on his friend and roommate, the magnificent Uli Roth, who destroyed the guitar with songs like “Sails of Charon” and “We’ll Burn the Sky”, among others. Uli Roth played with them from 1975 thru 1979. He and Michael Schenker are two phenomenal, influential players through to this very day!! Mathis Jabs took over playing lead and produced most of the hits that are known til this day. “Rock You Like a Hurricane”, “Still Loving You”, “Blackout”, “No One Like You”... the list goes on and on!! Thanks, Asia and BJ!!
