I've lived in Northern Ireland my whole life, 25 miles from Belfast. I grew up through 'The Troubles' which lasted from 1969 until the 'Good Friday Agreement' of 1998. In 1921 Britain withdrew from Ireland but held on to 6 counties in the north (Northern Ireland) the IRA then started a civil war in 1969 to get Britain to leave the North as well. Protestant/ loyalist paramilitaries then started up to fight against the IRA and other irish republican Paramilitaries and in the process over 3,000 people lost their lives. Sad sad times but we have come a long way since 1998. Great song, great reaction.

not it is not composed by simple minds , they changed the words from an old Irish song " SHE MOVED THRO' THE FAIR , they done a great jod , beatiful song , beatiful music , they are great !
